Story
Tess is a 5 month old Rottweiler. She is up to date in vaccines & crate trained. Tess has been diagnosed with Scoliosis, that being said she is good with kids and other pets but would be best in a home with no more than one other dog or low energy. Tess is well rounded and doesn't play strange with other pets or people. We are hoping to rehome to family who met criteria above but she will stay with us as long as needed. We are only hoping to rehome due to higher risk of injury in current multi dog home. We would prefer not to use a rescue/shelter, direct to approved home only.

Story
We first adopted Titus from our neighbours who had a litter of puppies over covid. He is currently 3 years old now, and has been loved by our family for his entire life. Titus's personality can be described as fun and quirky. He loves cuddles and being near to his humans at all times. He will take all the attention you can give him! Titus enjoy being outdoors, and enjoys walks twice a day, except for on cold or rainy days where he would much rather be laying on his bed! He is very adaptive, and will accomodate your work and home lifestyle well. He responds well to commands, and listens well to house boundaries. Titus gets along with most dogs and cats, however he is very good at indicating when he is uncomfortable with a particular situation. All in all, he is incredibly loyal and protective of those he loves, and would certainly saccrifice his own life for you once he gets to know that you are his family.

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Martha into the Fetch + Releash family on September 15, 2024 (subject to change). In order for Martha to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take her home on her arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until her new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Martha / Female / 1.5 years / 60 pounds / Lab Mix / from Tennessee Introducing Martha, a delightful Lab mix hailing all the way from Tennessee. This vibrant and playful sweetheart is on the lookout for her forever family, and she can't wait to bring joy and companionship to a loving home. Martha, along with her equally charming littermates, loves soaking up the attention from her trusted people and playing with furry friends. Due to where she currently resides, she has limited exposure to new people so it is expected for her to be a little shy at first. She is the most confident of her siblings but with a drastic change to her environment it is likely she will need time to adjust to her new surroundings. Giving her time to decompress once in her new home will allow her true colours to come alive. Her loving nature makes her an ideal fit for a family setting, where her playful personality can shine. Martha has grown up with her littermates and enjoys having canine companions. She currently lives alongside another dog who is larger than her. We feel she would be equally happy to be the only dog in her new home to soak up all the attention for herself as long as proper socialization and play time are provided with other canine friends. Martha is ready to continue learning and growing with her forever family. While she's developed well, ongoing guidance and reminders about her size will help her flourish in her new environment, especially around children as she can be excitable and jump up. Dog savvy children (8 years+) would be best for her future home. Her new family will need to be committed to working with her on all the basics—everything from crate training, potty training, walking on leash and basic commands. Her family should expect to spend time offering several opportunities per day to walk, play, and provide enrichment as Martha learns how to live the good life in Canada. Martha has never been exposed to cats but we feel as though a home with a feline would not be the right match for her. Martha's future family will find joy in incorporating training sessions, building routines, and setting gentle boundaries to ensure her success. If you're ready to welcome a bundle of love and energy into your home, Martha is eager to become your loyal companion. Let's make Martha's dreams of a forever home come true – could you be the one to bring her home? If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Martha's adoption fee is $850 To learn more about our adoption fees and the foster-to-adopt process, please visit our FAQs at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/about-us#about-faqs.

Red’s foster describes him as a gentle teddy bear who loves to snuggle, sniff, and snooze. Red came from our partner rescue in Tennessee in October. Not much is known about his past, but this guy is ready for a fresh start! Red is a super social guy who loves everyone he meets. He is a suck for attention and will often lean into people to get pets. He is quick to be comfortable around new people and is very relaxed when his people are around. He has met young children, and was very gentle with them-he would do well in a house with dog savvy kids. While he would be suitable for a family, he would also thrive in a single owner household. He is not picky about location either-he’s fine with anything from rural to city living. As long as Red gets to soak up all of the attention-he is happy! He gets along well with all dogs and would do well with resident dogs. He wants to sniff most dogs he meets, and will either show no interest-or want to play and chase them around. He’s not been introduced to cats, but he does have a prey drive-so we recommend a cat free home. He has a medium energy level. He currently lives in a condo, and gets one 45 minute walk, paired with three or four shorter potty break walks. He walks really well on a leash. He will always walk on your left side, and is not distracted by people or traffic. He will sometimes get distracted by a scent, but it is easy to get his attention back. He is fully potty trained and is also pretty good with basic commands. He could use some work on his recall, and would benefit from working on this with his forever family. Red is often left alone, for four or so hours at a time, and does very well. When his foster is getting ready to leave-he usually joins her at the door but is quick to settle once she’s gone. When she arrives home, she usually finds him sleeping happily on his bed. When Red is home with his foster, he can be found sniffing around and sunbathing on the deck, or laying on his bed. He is pretty independent and usually does his own thing around the house. He is good in the car, but gets carsick when he goes to “scary places”, like the vet. Prior to coming into care, Red tested positive for Ehrlichia which is a tick-borne infection and is not contagious. A CBC was performed to see if there is an active infection. Red's CBC came back indicating that there is no active infection. It is recommended that Ehrlichia positive dogs get an annual blood test to monitor and that pre-op blood work including a CBC test and platelet count be performed before any surgeries or dental extractions. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting Red, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Red’s adoption fee is $500. Found tied up outside, it's suspected she spent her entire life in this situation, but her spirit remains bright. Although initially she can be shy, Faith is blossoming with love and attention since her rescue. Her confidence is growing, and she's discovered a newfound love for toys, showcasing adorable zoomies in her pen. Faith can get excited when she sees her trusted people and jumps up with excitement. Making a structured routine, boundaries and continued training are crucial to ensure she reaches her full potential. To ensure her well-being, an experienced family who can learn and use sign commands for training would be ideal. A family with older, dog-savvy children or a child-free home is recommended. While a yard would be nice, it's not a deal-breaker as long as her physical needs are met. Even though we do not know anything about Faith’s past, her new people will need to be committed to working with her on training from the basics. Skills like house training, crate training and walking on leash will all need to be worked on. She is so eager to please her humans that training will be a great bonding experience for all. Faith will need at least two walks per day and opportunities to go to the bathroom. Doggy enrichment like puzzle toys and snuffle matts will also aid in help keeping this girl happy and fulfilled. Faith, with her gentle and loving nature, is ready to make her forever family feel cherished. If you're ready to open your heart and provide the patience and structure she needs, Faith is waiting to become a beloved member of your home. Let's give her the chance to experience the warmth and care of a forever family.
