Story
Jagger is an 8 year old border collie / husky cross. He is 60 lbs of short creamy white fur with a striking dappled red nose & ears. He has a truly goofy grin when he’s happy and his expressive toffee brown eyes make it hard to stay mad at him for any length of time. He is house trained and absolutely adores his crate. He often puts himself to bed in it if if his people are up past his bedtime. He also likes to nap on the couch. Jagger loves playtime, his absolute favourite toy is his tug rope. He’ll amaze you at how fast plush toys can be taken apart. However, he is very gentle with his rubber toys. He tends to get bored, so rotating his toys is a good idea. Outside he plays with a large rubber ball but has the typical husky attitude after a few throws of “if you lose it again it’s not my problem “. Jagger has never truly played with a Frisbee, but given the space would astound you at how high he can jump. He is very smart and learns quickly. He’s food motivated and knows sit, down, wait, look at me, with me, turn, and of course high five. Jagger leans more towards his husky side. He walks well on his gentle leader but still has a tendency to pull when distracted. He likes nothing better than to see new places, he occasionally gets car sick but this is solved by timing his meals accordingly. Jagger is fascinated by water but doesn’t want to be in it, he will avoid puddles at all costs and take you home if it starts to rain on a walk. He loves being around it and will bring you right to the water’s edge, just don’t try to make him go in. Jagger is dog reactive, and will bark and lunge when he sees other dogs. This is behaviour can lead to him redirecting on whoever is near. When unable to escape he does have some leash aggression, interpreting any movement towards him as a threat. He has been making great strides towards correcting this, and rarely reacts to neighboring dogs. He would benefit greatly from a course specializing in reactive dogs. Jagger is an absolute sweetheart. He’s a cuddly fun boy that would do well in a dog savvy home with a well fenced yard with people willing to provide the training that the high energy and northern breeds need. He needs a quiet adult home with no other pets and experienced owners. Jagger is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Story
Tilly / Female / 4 month / Northern Mix Breed / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes Meet Tilly, Cali and Freya’s sister. Tilly is a playful and lovable 10 week old Northern mix breed puppy from our rescue partners at Northern Reach Network. Tilly loves everything in life, especially her toys, food, and people. Her favorite toys include her teddy bear and balls, and she enjoys eating from interactive puzzle toys like Snuffle Mats, towels, and Kongs. Tilly adores her doggy foster brother and tries to initiate play constantly, and she's just as affectionate with humans, quickly winning hearts with her friendly and sweet nature! Tilly is a curious and rambunctious puppy who is highly food motivated, making training easy peasy. She's working hard on her crate and house training, doing well in her crate when left alone, and sleeping soundly after a short period of “awoos”. Tilly’s foster family says she has been a joy to foster, and we've loved watching her grow, explore, and gain confidence in herself. Tilly is up to date on age appropriate vaccines. She is currently being fostered in Bowmanville. Apply to Adopt! https://forms.gle/yymbcMtXHvyEvUF76

Story
Bee / Spayed Female / Husky Mix / 60 Pounds / Dogs: Yes / Cats: No / Kids: Yes Meet Bee – A Sweet, Playful Husky Mix Looking for Her Forever Home! Bee is a 1.5 year old Husky mix from northern Ontario, ready to find her forever family. She came to us through our rescue partners at Northern Reach Network and has blossomed into an affectionate, playful, and loving companion. Bee, still young herself, had a litter of puppies before being rescued. Since then, she’s been receiving lots of love and training in her foster home and is now a wonderful dog with so much to offer. Bee is a big love bug who thrives on attention and affection. She loves cuddling and being close to her people. If you’re sitting down, Bee will happily sit right on top of you, trying to get even closer. She’s playful, confident, and curious, and she always wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing. Bee is also gentle, sweet, and friendly, with a good-natured personality that makes her a joy to be around. She’s food motivated, very smart, and quick to pick up new things. Bee is crate trained and house trained, which will make her transition into a new home easier. She’s made great strides with her leash manners, though she still pulls at times, she’s learning to “heel.” Bee knows commands like sit, paw, drop it, and off, and she’s starting to understand “down.” Bee will quietly ask to go outside when she needs to, and if she misses her first cues, she gets a bit antsy, but she’s great at letting you know when she needs to go. Bee has an off switch when needed, and while she’s playful and rambunctious, she knows how to wind down and relax. She loves to play, run, and have fun, but when the day winds down, Bee is ready to settle in and enjoy some cuddle time. Bee would do best in a home with at least one other dog to match her playful energy, but she could also thrive in a home without other dogs, as long as she has plenty of enrichment to keep her brain busy. She loves roughhousing with other dogs and will often cuddle up with them for naps. It took some time for Bee to adjust and destress from her past, but she’s done wonderfully and is now great with other dogs. Bee is a wonderful, loving, and smart dog who’s ready for a family that will continue to give her the love, attention, and training she deserves. She has so much to offer and will make an incredible addition to the right home. Could it be yours? Bee is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She is being fostered in Waterford. Story
Adele / Spayed Female / 1.5 Year old / 50 pounds / Dogs: Yes / Cats: No / Kids: Yes / Adele, or “Delly” as her foster affectionately calls her, is a 1.5-year-old Northern Mix from our friends at Northern Reach Network. When Adele first arrived, she was a scared, anxious, and underweight dog, having already been through the hardship of having a litter of puppies. Since then, she’s blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and sweet dog who is eager to bond with her people. Adele absolutely loves other dogs and would do well with a more mature dog to help her burn off energy and guide her as she continues to build her confidence. This super smart, curious, and adventurous girl is full of love. She’s especially fond of toys—particularly stuffies that she enjoys “wrecking”—as well as chewing on sticks and figuring out her Kong. Adele is also a cuddle bug who loves belly rubs and pets. She’s becoming more playful every day and is increasingly confident in new situations. She has a cute, high-pitched yawn that’s earned her the nickname “kettle,” and her need for affection is matched only by her eagerness to please. Adele would thrive in an active home where she’s kept physically and mentally stimulated. She would prefer someone home more often than not to keep her company and offer her the attention she craves. Due to her past experiences, she needs an experienced, patient owner who can provide her with the time and care she needs to continue to grow into the confident, happy dog she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who’s ready to love and bring joy into your home, Adele might just be the perfect fit! Adele is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is currently fostered in Pickering. Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/B9bqj6MQ9kYrNRxB7

Story
Rory / Spayed Female / 5 Years old / Northern Mix Breed / 65 pounds / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes / Meet Rory, a playful and energetic 5-year-old Manitoba dog who came to us through another rescue. She came with her 10 puppies but has weaned them and is now looking for her own forever family! Rory is a confident and curious girl who loves balls, sticks, treats, and, of course, dinner time—she’s very food-motivated! She enjoys playing with other dogs and is especially fond of stalking squirrels, a true northern dog at heart. Rory is a cuddle connoisseur and will happily snuggle up for belly rubs after a fun walk or run. She’s great with kids and cats, and also enjoys dog puzzles to keep her sharp. Although shy with men at first, Rory warms up quickly and is a super love bug. She’s affectionate, smart, and friendly, with a great nature. She loves her car rides, is good in her crate (sleeping through the night without barking), and is working hard on her recall, sitting before meals, and leash manners. Rory would thrive in an active home with a family who enjoys regular walks, hikes, or even running—she loves burning energy! She’s a bit of an escape artist, so a secure yard is essential. Rory is ready to be your loving, energetic companion, and would make an amazing addition to an active, caring family. Rory is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She is being fostered in North York. Apply to Adopt! https://forms.gle/kmiWLVAQ83Gdemg47

MAKE SURE TO READ BIO IN FULL. APPLICANTS THAT DO NOT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. A FENCED YARD AND QUIET HOME IS A MUST. Teddy / Neutered Male / 2.5 years / Miniature Poodle / 15lbs / Dogs: Yes, calm ones / Cats: Not sure / Kids: Yes, 12+ Hi, I’m Teddy. I came from what many people call a “puppy mill,” but for me, it was a real-life nightmare. I spent my days in a small cage with other dogs, barely getting fresh food and water. The only time I saw humans was when they roughly moved us from cage to cage, and to be honest, I was scared of them. I didn’t know what love was, or even what a real home was. But then everything changed. One day, a kind family came and took me to their home. It was warm, peaceful, and safe – a place where I could finally feel what it’s like to be loved. I now have two doggy foster brothers who came from the same background, and I was amazed at how they trusted their humans and how gentle and kind everyone is. Slowly, I’ve learned that not all humans are scary, and that most dogs are treated with love and care in their homes. I’m so grateful for this new life, and I’m excited to find a forever home where I can feel safe and loved every day. A little about me: • I’m a quiet guy who loves chicken, cheese, and plain Timbits (yum!). • I enjoy relaxing on a comfy couch or bed – comfort is key! • I prefer calm, peaceful environments. Rowdy kids and chaotic situations make me nervous. • I’d do best in a home with no other pets or maybe one quiet, laid-back dog. I’m still learning to trust other dogs and understand that playing doesn’t always mean fighting. • I’m shy because I’m still figuring out who I can trust, but once I know you’re kind, I’m a loyal friend. • I’m a low-energy guy and don’t require much exercise. I’m perfectly happy with a walk and some time to do my business outside. • I enjoy sleeping in my crate, and I go in and out without issue. It’s my safe space. • I’ve never met a cat, so I’m not sure about them. • I am good with kids but need respectful, older children who understand my need for space and quiet time. A little extra about me: I’m nearsighted, so I don’t see very well sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me much. I can be picked up and carried, though I’m still getting used to it. I mostly like to relax, but who knows? Maybe I’ll start enjoying some playtime as I get more comfortable! What I’m looking for: I want a quiet home where someone is around more often than not. I need a family who is patient and understanding as I continue learning to trust. My ideal home would be calm, routine, and full of gentle love. I’m ready to spend my days lounging with you and being your loyal companion. I’m a little shy, but I know I have a lot of love to give. If you think you could be the right person to help me feel safe and loved, I can’t wait to meet you. Teddy has need neutered, is up to date on his vaccines and is microchipped. He had a dental cleaning. He is being fostered in St Thomas. Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/iE7ZF3uYLmcq2Lvt6
