Hello! My name is Beau!I`ve been patiently waiting for a new home since March. I`m an energetic fellow looking for an energetic family that has the time for play and training! I am so smart, I love treats and will do almost anything for a good reward. I do get stressed and bark when I see dogs on walks, or exciting things like bikes. Being a Jack Russell Terrier, I come with springs in my feet and like to spring up when I get excited. I`m doing well with training and am excited to join a family that will keep up my training to help me be a happy and comfortable little man. If you enjoy agility or any other dog sports, I am definitely the dog for you!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No young children. Teenagers may be ok.OTHER DOGS: No, other dogs make me feel stressed.CATS: No, given my high prey drive.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required, unless it`s a rural property.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my reactions on leash.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: High.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Fosters will offer the routine, structure and stability needed to help get animals ready for their new family. Learn more at https://guelphhumane.ca/the-paisley-project/.

Hello! My name is Murphy!I`m a friendly guy who is looking for a retirement home where I can hang out and lay in the sun or frolic in the snow. I can be chatty and I do enjoy a good howl every now and again. My friends find it endearing, hopefully you will too! I do enjoy walking and running, and despite my age can certainly keep up with your exercise! I do have senior joints, though, and am currently doing well on a monthly dose of Librela that I hope to continue in my new home. I`m also a lap dog, so I hope you don`t mind 60 lbs snuggled up on the couch with you.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I`m looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: No, I don’t enjoy the company of other dogs.CATS: Yes, I have lived with a cat before.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I`m looking for a home with previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartments as I don`t enjoy dogs in my personal space and I do like to howl.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends and foster parents have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn`t so scary. Once I warm up, you will see I have the best wiggle-bum. And I enjoy neck scratches and bum scratches. I`m still working on my confidence as little things can scare me, such as noises and movements. When I feel comfortable though, I can be quite silly and playful. I`m looking for an experienced home that is patient and can dedicate time to helping me continue to come out of my shell!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok, no young children given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: No, unfortunately I don`t have much experience with dogs and am not very comfortable with them.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has lots of dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

My progress has been slow and I`m looking for an adopter who has the time and interest in continuing to help me progress. I am playful and love running around when I get the zoomies. Hello! My name is Bailey!I`m a fun little dude looking for a mature home that likes to go for walks and play with toys! I have allergies for which I am on a special diet and ongoing medication to manage. I do love my humans so much that I can get protective of them. My GHS friends tell me that I demonstrate good communication skills when I am feeling this way, so people understand that they need to give me space. I love training and tasty allergy-friendly treats. I pick up on new things quickly as I am a super smarty-pants. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I’m looking for a mature home.OTHER DOGS: No, I would prefer to be the only pet in the home.CATS: No, I`ve never been around cats, and given my struggles with sharing my humans, I would do best as the only pet in the home.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I’m looking for a home that has some dog experience. Story
Hello! My name is Denver!I`m a pretty cool dude and love to play fetch! I`m very good at it if I may say so myself. I am a sensitive guy and like stability and routine and not too much chaos. I am a real sweetheart and wag my tail when you talk silly to me. I am uncomfortable with a few things - vet visits, car rides, dogs when they`re too close, and sometimes visitors. But I`m very smart and quick to learn, so I`m looking for a home that has the patience and interest in helping me with training to feel safe in these common scenarios. I assure you it will be worth it as I will pay in snuggles.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I`m looking for a calm, adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: No, I don’t enjoy the company of other dogs.CATS: Yes, I have lived with cats before.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I`m looking for a home that has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings as I don`t like dogs in my personal bubble.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes, but expect accidents as I settle in.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!
