Story
Hello, my name is Sasha! Despite being in a beagle rescue, I’m a Treeing Walker Coonhound, about 7 years old and more significant than the average beagle (~50lbs). I was abandoned by my previous people, and the kind people at CBR stepped in to help me because there wasn’t a good alternative for me in the County I was found in. I am a good girl deserving of a loving family. I’ve been with a few foster families but haven’t found the right one yet. Because of my past I am very fearful of new people and need someone who understands the type of environment I need to be my happy, loving best self. My last foster family took me on many hikes, and the little human taught me tricks and read me bedtime stories every night. My preference is to be in a home with no other (young) dogs, I might do well with another dog with low energy, and cats, well, they are not for me (I am a hound, after all). Because I can’t find a foster home right now I am being cared for at a kennel. I don’t know how long I will be able to stay here. If you want to learn more about me please contact Gennyfer so she can fill you in on my full story. Sasha is a special case, therefore, if you are interested in adopting Sasha, please contact Gennyfer Santel, President of Cascade Beagle Rescue before submitting an application. Gennyfer can be reached at (503) 894-1818 or by email at gennyfer@cascaderescue.org.

Having just arrived from Guadalajara Mexico on Oct 22nd, he is ready to become a permanent fixture in your family! Weighing in at around 15 lbs, he's a great small dog option for those seeking a playful and friendly smaller dog. Bobby is a pug ETC mix! Story
"Hello, my name is Guava! Guava just let me trim his nails with no drama. He sat on my lap while I trimmed them. I gave him one treat per nail and he was happy. He has white nails with obvious quick. He’s good with all handling. Putting on his sweater and harness. Brushing, checking ears and teeth. He’s getting there with house training and redirects with a quick “nope” or “uh-uh” away from marking or the cat. He’s learning to pee on bushes instead of patio furniture. He goes to the door when my dog rings the bells to go out, so he could be trained to them easily, since he is seeing how they work. He follows me everywhere, but I don’t think he has separation anxiety. I left him in the pen with the dog camera on him and left for 20 minutes. He only barked a little, then settled quickly. He is very food motivated. He also does some demand barking. I’ve been ignoring it and he’s learning quickly that it doesn’t work. I also suspect he’s a runner. I had to redirect him from the fence where he looked like he might try to dig under. So he will need a reinforced fence in his home. He’s very resilient. I have never had a foster/dog that wasn’t a young puppy settle in so quickly. He doesn’t like sleeping in the crate but will. He made himself a little nest in the pen I have in the living room and will go in there to nap if the door is open. He does tend to bark at dogs out in the world. I took him to a pet store today and he barked at a dog there but settled once I picked him up. There are methods to desensitize reactivity, but it takes time. I don’t think he will show super well at adoption fairs because of this. He will be a lovely, easy dog for someone who is looking for a little guy. I have to be back at work on 1/20 in the morning and really need to find another foster for him by the 19th.
