Story
Hello my name is Jango I am an American Staffordshire terrier Mix and I am around 4 years old and weigh about 60lbs. I have lived the majority of my life in the shelter and that is all I know because of that I would need to be shown how to live and act in a house. I would need to go to a home with no cats. Also older children as I don't know my own strength. I do get along with most dogs but would probably prefer a female dog friend that is around my size. If you are looking for a loving and smart dog that loves food, toys and going for walks I just might be your guy so please email and get an application. If you are interested in meeting Jango we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. The adoption fee is $250.00, which includes neuter, microchip, flea treatment, deworming and vaccinations. All adoptions are done by appointment only, with an approved application on file. We truly appreciate your interest in helping a dog in need. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgDecember 30, 2024, 6:04 am

Story
Hi my name is Gerty I am a Hound, Anatolian Shepherd mix and am around 2 years old and weigh about 50 lbs. I love other dogs but can play rough so I would need to meet any dog friend before I left the shelter. Cats peek my interest and I'm not sure how I would do living with one. I love kids of all ages and just love being loved on all together. I know some basic commands but need some reminders as I like to keep busy by getting into things which isn't a good thing. Other than that I am a very loving dog and just wanna play and love on everyone. If you wanna meet me please email to get an application. If you are interested in meeting her we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an adoption application. Her adoption fee is $250.00 that includes her being spayed and current on all her vaccinations. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgDecember 30, 2024, 6:04 am

Story
What Beck lacks for in ability he makes up for with his heart. This guy is an absolute love. He wants to be with his people and wants nothing more than to please. He does not have a lot of experience at life. Having been found as a stray, you can kind of tell that his interactions with people and learning have been few and far between. He wants to learn very badly and is very capable, he just needs someone who is committed to teaching him to become the best dog that he can become. He does great with other dogs, we would highly suggest putting him in a home with an older female that can teach him the difference between right and wrong and show him the ropes of living with a family. We are still on the fence with him with cats, as we have not been able to get a good test in with him.  If you are interested in meeting Beck we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an adoption application. Once you have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet him. November 6, 2024, 5:41 am

Story
Hello my name is Beck, I am a German Shepard mix and am around 1 year old and weigh about 65 lbs. I do get along with other dogs but would prefer an older female dog friend that could show me the ropes. I might not do the best with cats as they are fun to chase and I would prefer older kids so I don't accidentally knock them over or hurt them. I am a shy dog but warm up quickly if you show me it's okay. I am eager to learn and love food so if you have some I might just do what you ask of me or at least try. I am learning many things here at the shelter and love to learn and interact with the people here. I love going for walks and getting to run around in the yard and chase toys. If you are interested in meeting me please email to get an application. If you would like to meet him we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file, we will then schedule at time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $150.00 that includes him being current on his vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgDecember 30, 2024, 6:04 am

Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THESE DOGS ARE NOT AT THE SHELTER Meet Luna (girl) and Frankie (boy) Luna is the yellow lab and Frakie is the red retriever. Luna is Frankie's aunt and they are both Lab/Retriever mixes. They came to th home in 2019 as puppies with Luna being 6 months older than Frankie. They are both altered, up to date on vaccinations. The family recently had their elderly parents move in and they are fall risks. Frankie and Luna don't understand the best way to stay out of the way. Frankie and Luna for the most part are outside dogs. They are very friendly and affectionate and they like belly rubs the most. The family would prefer they stay together, they do excellent with kids, and other dogs, but don't have much experience with cats, but they do love to chase small animals such as squirrels.  If you are interested in meeting these guys please drop us an email at adoption@columbiahumane.org and we can put you in touch with their owner.                November 15, 2024, 5:32 am

Story
Hi my name is Annabelle. I’m a German Shepard Mix and am about 8 months old and weigh in at about 60 lbs. I do get along with other dogs but need a dog friend that will correct me and teach me the ropes of how to play nice and just be a dog. I don’t do good with cats as I like to chase. Because I am still young It probably wouldn’t be best for me to go with young kids because I am still learning and am going to get big. I am pretty shy when it comes to new things and need someone that is gonna show me that it will be okay. I am learning that food is really good and toys are fun to play with. I am a sweet girl and would love to meet you so please email to get an application. If you are interested in adopting this wonderful girl we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once you have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. Her adoption fee is $350.00 that will include her being spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJanuary 14, 2025, 5:21 am
