Story
Olaf, the chocolate Chihuahua, is about 4.5 years old and looking for the perfect, quiet home with someone who is familiar with anxious and fearfully reactive dogs. He would do best in a home with no children, and not a lot of visitors. Cats are a no go for Olaf as are most other dogs. He would be ok with one small, submissive, low-key doggie friend as he likes to play occasionally, but he isn't very good at normal dog play. We lovingly think of Olaf's personality as a cat trapped in a dog's body. Olaf takes a daily anxiety medication to help him feel safe in his everyday environment. Olaf will need an understanding and patient person that will allow him space and decompression time when he gets overstimulated. Olaf is crate trained and for the most part potty trained. However, like any small dog he isn’t a fan of going outside in the rain or cold. He walks wonderfully on leash as long as no off leash dogs approach him, and he also loves to travel in the car. He does like affection on his own terms and will let you know when he no longer wants attention. Olaf's perfect home will need to be willing to give him time and show him patience as he is settling in to your lifestyle, they must also be willing to continue working on training to ensure he lives a happy and safe life. Most importantly Olaf will need a person that is NOT expecting a snuggly lap dog. While he will occasionally snuggle and sit on your lap, it will only happen when he chooses it. His perfect person would be looking for a tiny, quirky shadow that is content with his mere presence as companionship. Olaf is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Olaf is $350. If you are interested in adopting Olaf, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/application.html .

Story
Daisy is about 4-5 years old and about 20 pounds. She has been in a foster home for a year learning force free training, meeting new people, and going to new places. She likes having her own space that will fit her sleeping bag dog bed and is quieter. She will run there during storms and fireworks or when feeling stressed by neighbors in their yards. A fully fenced yard is recommended. She needs patience in new places, loves her trainer, and is enjoying scent games. If you live near Royal Oak, we will share information to make her transition to your family go smoothly. Daisy likes sleeping in the bedroom with her people. Sometimes on the bed, sometimes under the bed, and sometimes in a crate in the room. Daisy lives for walkies, but will run zoomies in her fenced yard at her foster home. Daisy knows some commands and works for treats in amusing ways. Chasing squirrels and chipmunks can be fun, but do not keep her attention if lawn crews, builders, or delivery trucks are in the area. Daisy is a great dog and will bring joy to those who are willing to help her feel safe. Daisy does not do well with small critters or cats. Daisy is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Daisy is $350. If you are interested in adopting Daisy, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/application.html .

Story
Hi my name is Frank! I am a 12 month old mutt who was rescued from Macomb Humane Society back in February 2024 when I was 3 months. According to my DNA results, I am 47% German Shepherd, 25% Perro de Presa Canario, 12% American Staffordshire Terrier and more! I am a BIG(XL) lover boy who is looking for a home that can give me attention during the day and a possibly a buddy to play with. I absolutely love going out on sniffaris, running around the yard, playing with my neighbor pup along the fence, chewing on sticks, snuggling on the couch and giving lots of kisses. I would love to have a large fenced backyard to run around with and do well with dogs my size to play. I love kids however older would be best since I have poor body awareness. I am smart and know commands including sit, stay, place, come, take a break, down, settle and working on leave it & roll over! My current owners absolutely adore me my older sister(8yo) decided she needs to be the only dog, I’m too playful for her!

Story
Meet Ruby: A Queen in Search of Her KingdomRuby is a nearly 5-year-old gem of a dog who is ready to find her forever home. This friendly and lovable girl is looking for a family to cherish her and a place to call her own.Ruby knows she’s royalty and prefers to reign as the only dog in her home. She’s also best suited for a household with older human siblings (ages 12+), who can match her gentle yet independent nature.Ruby is a toy enthusiast, with a particular fondness for squeaky toys. She loves the challenge of finding the squeakers and can spend hours entertaining herself with her favorite stuffies. When she’s not playing, she adores belly rubs—she’ll happily melt onto the floor for as many as you’re willing to give!Though she enjoys affection, Ruby also values her independence and is content to have some “me time.” She would thrive with a fenced yard where she can play, lounge in the sun, and enjoy the great outdoors with her toys.Ruby is already a very good girl who knows some basic commands, and she’s eager to keep learning! Thanks to a generous sponsor, her training has been prepaid, and her adopter will receive a certificate for additional training to help her shine even brighter.Ruby’s journey hasn’t been easy—her previous owner recently passed away, leaving her missing the comforts of her old home. But she’s ready to start fresh with a family who will treat her like the queen she is.If you’re ready to welcome this special girl into your life, apply today and let Ruby show you just how wonderful she can be!Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Meet Boone: Your New Adventure Buddy!Boone is a lively 4-year-old beagle mix weighing about 42 pounds. He’s an energetic, happy-go-lucky pup who’s always ready for fun and new adventures. Boone has a zest for life and can’t wait to meet his forever family! This playful guy would be a perfect addition to a home with a securely fenced yard—that’s a must for his adopters. Boone loves to follow his nose, so sniffing around the yard is one of his favorite ways to burn off his "wild man" energy. Be sure to supervise him during outdoor time; if there are escape routes, his curious nose might lead him on an unexpected adventure!Boone also enjoys going for walks or even embarking on a “sniffari” down a trail. While he does like other dogs, he can get a bit overexcited when meeting new furry friends, so a few meet-and-greets will help him find the right canine companion. Boone isn’t a fan of cats—he loves chasing them, so a feline-free home is best. This enthusiastic boy would do well in a household with children aged 12 and up who can match his energy and help with his training. Boone already knows some basic commands, but he’ll thrive with additional guidance and structure to bring out his best behavior. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, adventurous, and affectionate dog, Boone might just be your perfect match. Applications are now open to adopt this playful pup. Could Boone be the one for you?Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals.
