Story
Meet Foxy! With ears any pup would envy, Foxy is an adorable 50-pound, three-year-old cattle dog mix who is ready for a family that will love her the way she deserves. Right from the start, Foxy does not disappoint! She is one smart gal and knows several commands including "sit, down, shake, come, and stay". She is also house-trained and crate-trained! Foxy is easy to please and loves all sorts of toys including kongs and bones. Foxy is a pup that thrives off of affection and isn't afraid to ask for some love! She enjoys kisses from our volunteers and deserves all the love you can give. Foxy is great on a leash and is ready to follow you wherever you want to go. She also makes a great running buddy! True to her breed, Foxy does love to herd and will benefit from daily exercise and lots of enrichment to help keep her happily engaged and mentally stimulated. A fenced-in yard for her to explore is a must for her! As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from continued training in her new home. Based on our evaluation, we feel Foxy would do best in a calm, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She may have the potential to live with other dogs of a similar size and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! She does have a dominant play style and will need to go to a home with no small animals due to her prey drive. If Foxy sounds like the pup you've been longing for, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and apply for this darling girl!

Story
Meet Frankie!! Hey guys-it's Frankie from GLDR. Some of you may recognize my name from our website as sadly, I've been here since SEPTEMBER 2023 with NO APPLICATIONS! Luckily, my amazing foster mom stepped in and I'm living it up at her place while I wait my family to bring me home and love me the way I deserve. I'm two years old and have my whole life to look forward to with you!! Foster living is a dream come true! I left the stress of the kennel life behind and don't ever want to look back! I currently live with my foster mom and her roommates and I've acclimated very well. I love everyone I meet and am always up for an adventure. Not only am I one handsome fella, I'm also very smart! I'm rocking my clicker training and have learned many commands including "sit, down, place, heel, and drop it. Check out the video of me doing my clicker training-and that was just in my first few days at home! I also enjoy enrichment including food puzzles! I'm even getting better on my leash during our daily walks! As if that wasn't cool enough, I'm also house-trained and crate-trained! When it comes to treats, I'm not picky at all! I especially love whipped cream! I'm a happy-go-lucky fella that finds joy in lots of different ways, even chasing ice cubes on the floor. I love all sorts of toys including squeakers and tennis balls and I live to play fetch! After playtime or mealtime is done, my mom takes away my food/toys with no issue. Up for a road trip? Count me in as I do well in the car too. An active family that will keep me exercised and engaged is a must for me! I definitely need a yard to play the day away. When I'm not playing, I love to sit on the back of the couch and check out the world outside. When it's cuddle time, I prefer to be close to you and will hang on your lap if you let me. After an enjoyable day, I sleep quietly through the night. My ideal family would be one that includes me in the action! I'm very eager to please and just want to make you proud. Everyone thinks I'd do best in a home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. I'd consider myself dog selective and promise to be the best boy ever!! If I sound like your kind of fellow, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit an application today. I can't wait to meet you so we can begin our lives together!
