Story
Zelda’s Search for Her Forever Home – And a Foster Family Until Then Zelda is a beautiful soul who just doesn’t understand why no one has chosen her yet. Despite her heartbreaking past, she still holds onto hope—and we do too. Zelda deserves a loving family to call her own. Could that be you? Meet Zelda: 🐾 Age: 3-4 years old 🐾 Good with: Cats, dogs, and kids 8+ (She’s a bit shy at first but warms up with kindness) 🐾 Loves: The outdoors, long walks, and exploring nature’s scents 🐾 Trained: Crate-trained, potty-trained, and fully vetted Zelda’s journey has been tough. In 2021, she tragically lost her human and found herself in a high-kill shelter—emaciated, scared, and pregnant. Since then, she’s been adopted twice, only to be returned both times through no fault of her own. Her most recent return came when her family moved out of state and the city life just wasn’t a good fit for her. This sweet girl thrives on love, patience, and a calm environment. Though she’s timid at first, once she’s comfortable, she shows her playful and affectionate side. Zelda would thrive with a patient and understanding family who can help her feel safe and secure. She’s a calm girl with a curious nature, so a secure yard is essential (6ft privacy fence or possible invisible fencing). She gets along great with children who understand her boundaries, enjoys walks, and loves being both indoors and outdoors. Car rides aren’t her favorite—she tends to get motion sickness—but she’s otherwise an easy-going companion. Zelda has waited far too long for the home she deserves. Could you be the one to give her the forever love she’s been longing for? 🔗 Apply to adopt Zelda today: https://www.sgdhrescue.dog 🔗 Foster Zelda: https://www.sgdhrescue.dog/foster-a-doggie/ Zelda’s happily-ever-after is still out there. Let’s make it happen.

Apple Pie is an 8-year-old male Yorkie with a heart as sweet as his name! He follows his foster around and is a happy boy. Poor guy came to us with awful awful teeth, our vets had to remove some, but cleaned the others.👅 Despite his almost toothless smile, we adore him. Apple Pie gets along great with other dogs and even cats, making him a perfect addition to a multi-pet household. He’s a friendly, loving companion who’s ready to fill your home with joy and cuddles. 📍 Located in Holly, MI. 🐾 Apply to adopt: www.sgdhrescue.dog Help give this sweet boy the loving forever home he deserves! 💖

Story
🐾 Meet Twinkle – Freshly Groomed and Looking for Her Special Home 🐾 Hi, I’m Twinkle, a 4-year-old Shih Tzu who’s ready to find a loving home! I just got a fresh grooming and I’m feeling fabulous. Originally, we were told my sister Angel and I had to be adopted together, but after spending more time in our foster home, we’re confident that we can be adopted either together or apart. However, having a confident dog in the home would be ideal for me! A little about me: 🐶 I’m blind, which means I need a stable, consistent environment where I can memorize my surroundings and navigate with confidence. I may not see the world, but I use my other senses—hearing, smell, and touch—to explore. Note: I have a follow-up vet appointment this Tuesday to check my eyes and confirm that my blindness isn’t neurological, but I’m feeling great! Why you’ll love me: 💖 I’m sweet, calm, and quiet, making me perfect for a peaceful home. 💖 I adore gentle affection and am learning to trust and embrace the kindness of human touch. 💖 I’m a loyal companion who will bring love and warmth into your life. My ideal home: ✔️ A quiet, stable environment where I can adapt at my own pace. ✔️ Adults or kids aged 14+ who can offer a calm and loving space. ✔️ Someone with the patience and understanding to help me feel safe and cherished. ✔️ A confident dog in the home would be a bonus! Did you know? Blind dogs like me can adapt beautifully with time, patience, and consistency. I just need someone who understands my needs and is willing to help me thrive! I’m based in Holly, MI, and I’m so excited to find my forever family. 🐾 Apply to adopt me: www.sgdhrescue.dog Thank you for considering giving me the loving home I deserve!

Story
Are you ready to fall in love? Meet Dixie, a 6-month-old Beagle with a heart as big as her floppy ears! This playful pup is searching for her forever home—a family who will appreciate her sweet personality, energy, and potential to be the best companion you could ask for. About Dixie: 🌟 Age: 6 months 🌟 Breed: Beagle 🌟 Personality at Home: Sweet, calm, and engaged with everyone. Dixie isn’t picky—she loves sitting or snuggling with anyone who offers her affection! 🌟 Energy Level: Typical puppy—play hard, nap harder. What Dixie Loves: 🎾 Playing with her favorite fabric chew toys and squeaky pig. 🐶 Making new furry friends! She’s playful and curious with dogs and cats. 💤 Napping in her crate (yes, she’s crate trained!). 👃 She's a Beagle... so she is a big sniffer out in the yard and on walks. Daily "sniffari's" would be heaven for her! Training and Manners: ✅ Potty trained and knows how to sit on command. ✅ Walks well on a leash, with only occasional pulling. 🚧 Still working on personal space and food manners—she’s a quick learner with consistent reinforcement! Responsive to “off” and responds well when boundaries are reinforced. 🐾 She’s a little mouthy in typical puppy fashion but gentle with people. Home Needs: 🏡 A physical fenced yard is recommended for now, as Dixie does not have recall. This is still a work in progress. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 She’d thrive in an active home that can provide structure, continued training, and plenty of love. 🐕 Whether she’s an only dog or joins a home with other pets, Dixie will shine. Special Notes: • Dixie is working on overcoming some resource guarding but is improving daily with guidance. Removing triggers (food/high value toys) has been working great so far! • She gets excited about people food (likely from her past), so she’ll need consistent boundaries to reinforce good manners. Dixie is bursting with potential and ready to be the sweet, loyal companion your family has been searching for. If you’re ready to give this loving pup the forever home she deserves, Dixie is ready to meet you! 🐾 📩 Contact us today to schedule a meet-and-greet with Dixie! 🏡 Let's find her the perfect forever home. ❤️.
