Story
This adorable, spunky, silly girl is heartbroken because she has absolutely zero interest from anyone wanting to adopt her. She has now set the record for the longest dog in our foster program. Pachi has been with us for a year and a half and prior to our rescue she had been in a shelter for several months. Pachi is the cutest little dog with the coolest ears. She is much smaller than she appears in her photos. (Under 30lbs). Pachi is a true gem, and we can't explain how lucky her person will be once they find each other. She's shown incredible growth but needs a home with structure and routine to continue to grow. Pachi finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like chasing a toy or curling up on the couch and loves to share blueberries and bananas for breakfast with her foster mom. Pachi is most comfortable with women but is open to anyone with a soft side. She would do best with an adult-only home, or with older children. Pachi likes to be the center of attention, so no other pets. She is not a fan of felines. Pachi prefers a home with a fenced in yard to run around in. We know that her person/people are out there, but we need your help to find this deserving girl her much deserved forever home. Please share. We would like Pachi to stay within Central PA or if the perfect home is found we would consider someone further away. “Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling the emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.” - Thom Jones

Story
Maeby is a four year old Blue Heeler born on March 13th, 2020. She is a very smart girl and is very loving and protective. She gets well along with our other dogs, however she tends to be reactive towards dogs she does not know well, along with people. Maeby will need someone who is willing to exercise her, ideally someone with a backyard or some land. She is very high energy and requires to be worked physically, as well as mentally. She is such a sweet girl and deserves a home that can give her everything she needs. She tends to be reactive on her walks (lunging at people, cars, and other animals), so she needs someone with patience. When she is not in an environment that overstimulates her, she is the best dog you could ask for. She knows tricks very well and can sit, stay, do paw, lay down and spin :-) If you have any questions regarding Maeby, please reach out! We just want the best for her.

Story
Tanner is a 8 year old Bloodhound rescue mix approx. 65lbs.He is a loving old man who needs a quiet home and would love a yard to explore. He loves being outside, and does great on car rides. He is a gentle giant that, loves other people and does well with both cats and other dogs. He is housetrained, and crate trained. He can be goofy at times, but is very laid back. He enjoys doing his own thing most days, which includes observing everything and sleeping in the sun. Although Tanner is a good boy, he does have some quarks to him. We suggest that if you have other dogs or animals, you feed him in a separate room where the other animals are not able to bother him. The same goes with children. He enjoys that time to himself. Tanner, does not like children which has led him to this path. We would like someone to adopt him that has no children living in the house. Unfortunately, the situation he is in now is not ideal for him. He is a good boy, that deserves to live out his golden years.

Story
I'm honestly really sad to let him go.. Due to a divorce and neither party having a place to keep him I am looking for a good home for him. He has received all his necessary shots up to this point only thing is he is not neutered. He is the epitome of a family dog. Happy, loving, AMAZING with kids, gentle and a bit of a cuddler, doesn't lick, to his credit doesn't really steal food (ive caught him a few times lol). He is already house trained but he could probably use some more leash training (he's quick study, has been with everything). He sits, he lays, he gives paws. He really is everything I wanted in a dog.. Like I said he is free, I'm not looking to make money off him I just want to make sure he has a good home. There is a caveat to this though, due to what was happening in our household we never got around to building a fence since the house is going to be sold now. Whoever wants him I just ask you have a fenced in yard for him to freely run. (xxx) xxx-xxxx .

Story
Bruno is a wonderful dog! I rescued him in 2018 as 1 year-old and have to rehome him as I moved and can't take him with me. He loves treats, toys, and bones. He is very sweet, friendly, laid-back, affectionate, and loves humans- kids and adults. He thinks he is a lap dog and loves to cuddle, but plays fetch and does zoomies too! He knows to sit, shake, lay, down, stay/come, and is housebroken. He has done well with my other pitbull but did not care for a smaller dog when food was around. He enjoys exercise, but can pull a leash if another dog or squirrel is nearby. He is best as an only dog with space to play in the backyard- a fence is ideal! He probably prefers to sleep in bed and under the covers with you at night but loves couches/dog beds and will be the last one to get up in the morning! He doesn't enjoy loud noises and needs extra love during thunderstorms or if a smoke detector goes off. He has been a great friend for 7 years and has plenty of good times ahead!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Please give us a brief description of the type of dog you are looking for and characteristics it MUST have.  We will do our best to help you find him/her if you pass our process.  Thank you for thinking about what you want and not just choosing a dog because it is 'cute' or a puppy. Please understand the cute puppy will very soon be a one year old and frankly you have no way of knowing what it will look like as an adult.  You also will not know personality like with a dog that is 2+.  A senior dog is a blessing just knowing that it is lucky to be here and loved.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm
