Please read description Meet Fritz! This sweet 8-year-old Beagle mix may have a few special needs, but he’s still full of love and ready to be your loyal companion. Fritz is deaf, has cloudy eyes, and is living with elevated kidney levels and arthritis in his hips and back legs. Despite these challenges, he gets around just fine and would love to follow you everywhere as your devoted shadow. Fritz enjoys being outside, and every now and then, he gets a burst of energy and trots around with joy. He’s comfortable navigating stairs, uses a pet door, and goes potty outside. While he does sleep a lot, he still has plenty of love to give, especially when it comes to neck scratches! Currently on a special kidney diet and pain medication for arthritis, Fritz is a calm and easy-going 36-pound pup who just needs a soft landing for his golden years. Sadly, he was abandoned during the holidays, but he’s ready to give his heart to a family that will cherish him for the rest of his days. Please consider making Fritz a part of your family. please read description .Meet Toto, an affectionate and charming 22.4-pound terrier mix with a wiry coat and a heart full of love. At 2–3 years old, Toto is the perfect blend of youthful energy and tender devotion. Rescued as a stray, he’s now ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home where he can thrive. Toto is incredibly loving and insists on being close to his favorite people—whether it’s cuddling up at night, resting his head on your shoulder, or gazing into your eyes with adoration. While he can be shy and startles easily, Toto’s sweet and eager-to-please nature shines through in everything he does. He’s a smart pup who learned how to use the pet door in his foster home almost instantly. He’s also food-motivated, though his past has made him a little hesitant to share treats, so supervision during snack time is advised. Toto is mostly potty trained, though he has had a couple of accidents while adjusting to his foster environment. Toto has a quieter demeanor overall, but when he gets excited, he lets out an endearing high-pitched bark. He hasn’t quite figured out how to play with toys or balls yet, but with patience and encouragement, he’ll likely blossom into a playful companion. Toto would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and an owner who is home often to spend time with him. please read descriptionMeet Toby, a sweet and snuggly 12-year-old Chihuahua who weighs just 13 pounds. This gentle boy has a soft white coat with cream accents and a heart full of love to give. Toby’s life recently took a turn when his previous owners surrendered him to a shelter, saying they could no longer care for him. Despite this, Toby’s loving nature has remained unshaken—he adores giving kisses and curling up close for snuggles. Toby is generally healthy but will soon have a dental cleaning (scheduled for March 18th), where we anticipate multiple extractions due to the condition of his teeth. Afterward, he may need a soft-food diet for the rest of his life, but the rescue is covering the dental costs. Occasionally, during especially cold weather, Toby may wear a belly band or male diaper to prevent accidents indoors. Toby is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is just $200, and he’s looking for a loving home where he can feel warm, safe, and cherished in his golden years. HONEYDEW IS BEING WITHDRAWN FROM ADOPTABLE DOGS WHILE HE IS HAVING SOME ADJUSTMENT ISSUES. HE IS IN THE LOVING ARMS OF HIS FOSTER MOM FOR NOW. THIS SHELTIE IS A PUPPY MILL SURVIVOR. IT WILL TAKE TIME AND PATIENCE FOR HIM TO BEHAVE LIKE A "REAL DOG." IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR THE PATIENCE, PLEASE LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR A DOG. He does not walk far on a leash and needs slow encouragement not to be frightened. He eats like a champ and will even take a treat from my hand. He especially likes one of our volunteers and when Susan pulled into the driveway today, he got as brave as he could and walked right up to her. (If you heard celebrating, that is what that was about.) Honeydew is UTD on all his vaccines and is microchipped with a Home Again chip that will be activated when he finds his forever family. His bloodwork is fine and he is Heartworm negative. All of that is well and good, as they say. But you are looking at a long process of loving kindness to help this little dude be all he can be. WE WILL CALL YOU FOR A PHONE INTERVIEW IF YOU SEEM LIKE A GREAT POTENTIAL MATCH FOR THE DOG YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR. "Ruby" is truly a gem! She is a 5-year-old spayed female rough Collie/ Australian Shepherd mix that has all the best qualities of both breeds. Her blue merle coloring is striking and her coat is shorter and more Aussie-ish and easy to care for. She is housebroken and obedience trained with basic commands. Her first outing after grooming was to go to Big R, a local farm and ranch store that welcomes RMCSR dogs. As we entered the store, we heard a child crying. A darling little girl with curly hair and a face wet with tears, clutching her mother's leg. I approached and asked if a dog might help and the mother said yes. Ruby and I moved forward, with Ruby slowly moving into an embrace with the kiddo. I wish I could have captured that moment. A couple of minutes later, the little girl walked off with her mom to finish their shopping, still wiping her tears but with a tentative smile on her face. I told her we would be in the store for a little while if she needed to hug Ruby again. As I said, Ruby is truly a gem! As we begin the search for the perfect match for this remarkable dog, some things seem important to acknowledge. Ruby needs kids in her life. She could have some kiddos of her own in her forever family. She could have grandchildren that visit frequently. She could even become a therapy dog and have children in her life in all kinds of different ways. Reading to children in a library setting. Children's hospitals welcome human/canine teams that learn appropriate behavior with sick kids. But Ruby deserves to be part of a loving family that will believe they are lucky to have her. Ruby is spayed, UTD on vaccines, heartworm negative and has great bloodwork. She is ready to choose the humans to spend the next 10 years with. Ruby will be screening the applications along with our Director.
