Story
Honey is a two-year-old yellow lab mix. She is around 50lbs and is full grown. Her ears are almost like a sharpei type breed ears along with her curly half tail. Her golden eyes will mesmerize you. Honey was found as an abandoned stray with another puppy. She is housebroken, walks great on a leash, and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She loves everyone she meets. Honey knows how to sit and catch a treat. Honey is the best dog! She loves to play with other dogs she meets, gets along great with cats who are ok with dogs, and loves to cuddle with humans, too. Honey will sleep with her person all through the night and enjoys naps by the window. She can entertain herself with chew toys while left alone but is also crate trained. She does prefer to have a dog buddy with her to pass the time and keep her company. Honey loves to run and would be a great walking or running partner, do well at doggie daycare, or chilling at her home. If you would like to meet Honey, please visit our website at hsdavie.org/dogs and complete an adoption application on her.

Story
WE MUST TALK ABOUT BRUNO! Bruno is a large lab/hound mixed breed around 75 lbs. He is 3 years old. Bruno was surrendered to a local shelter from a sad situation, but he is ready to put the past behind him and find his forever home. Poor Bruno was the only dog but lived with several cats and came from a hoarding case. He is housebroken, gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids. He loves to explore his new surroundings and thinks everything is his toy. He is doing well leash training and loves to be outside walking or playing. Bruno is a strong guy. He needs a fenced in yard or someone who can handle his strength. He needs a family to allow him to continue training and exercises him regularly. Due to Bruno's past, you would think he would have some trust issues with humans, but he loves everyone he meets instead. He wants to show you how much he loves you by tackling you sometimes without meaning to. He's a big goofball and doesn't know his size. In Bruno's heart, soul, and mind, he identifies as a Shitzu. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. If you're interested in adopting Bruno, please visit our website at hsdavie.org/dogs and complete an adoption application.

Story
Paul is a handsome one year old boy, with a beautiful brindle coat, looking to find his furever home! Paul found himself at the local shelter where he spent 200 days, injured and without a home. He has since recovered from his injuries and is making up for lost time. He has tons of puppy energy but is a loving cuddle bug when he's not running around. His foster family says that Paul is crate and house trained but pulls like a tugboat on the leash. He will need to go to a home who have the time and patience to teach him leash manners. They also say Paul is smart, trainable and seems to have a strong desire to please his people. He would do best in a home with dogs his size and older children. Paul is move in ready and would love to find his people. If you are interested in meeting Paul, please visit hsdavie.org/dogs and click on his picture for an application.

Story
Layna was found as a stray and ended up at the animal shelter. She was in rough shape with an injured back leg and needed emergency care to see what was going on. An x-ray confirmed she had been shot, and her leg was shattered in three places. After a cast and cage rest, it was determined an amputation was going to give her the best relief of pain and a future of no complications. She is recovering with her foster family. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Layna is a smaller husky at 44 lbs. She is very sweet and so smart! She will need an active family because once she's healed up, she's going to be ready to show her husky skills off. If you're interested in adopting Layna, please visit our website at hsdavie.org/dogs and complete an adoption application.
