Story
Missy is an absolutely beautiful AKC Labrador retriever. She is a stunning white color. Missy was from a breeder in Pennsylvania. She has had 1 litter of pups in the past. She was spayed and all shots updated in June. She is 62 lbs. Missy is shy at first but opens up quickly. She is not agressive or unkind at all. She is very sweet. Once she trusts you, she will be your 1 in a million dog. Missy would love a home with a dog friend. She adores running outside with dog pals, going on walks or sitting in the sun. We have reciently discovered her love of being brushed.

Story
Meet Frankie! This 2-year old fawn merle stunner came to us from our friends at local animal control after her owner could no longer care for her. It’s easy to notice Frankie’s strikingly bright blue eyes…we don’t call her Ol’ Blue Eyes for nothing! They are vividly captivating and we all know it! But it’s also easy to notice there is some potential impairment in those ice-hued baby blues. The good news is…Frankie can definitely see (and hear)! She is headed to an ophthalmologist in a few weeks to have a professional give her the once over!  Fly Me to the Moon - Frankie is AMAZING! She has a sweet, gentle, mellow, AND playful nature and is a natural entertainer. She is soooo easy to love! She loves to snuggle, loves kongs, is great in the car, amazing on leash, and keeps herself busy in the house while her foster mom works from home. She gently mouths while receiving affection with the softest lips and is an easy-going friend. She loves nature and the outdoors and we would consider her an expert scat finder (which is an important job and someone has to do it!).  Frankie tries to engage the resident cat in her foster home in play but doesn’t get upset if he swats or hisses. And she enjoys sleeping on the bed or couch with him. She has been great around the dogs she’s met – wanting to engage in appropriate play. Frankie is also somewhat cautious in new situations and can be a bit worried. She has had multiple homes in her short life and needs her next stop to be her last stop. But she bonds (and trusts!) quickly with her humans. Due to her size and lack of history, older kids would be best for this unique and stunning rat packer. Frankie’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family that is up to the task of snuggling in bed every night. Seriously…non-snugglers need not apply for this cuddle horse and a half. 2. A family who would love to explore the outdoors through the eyes of this innocent soul. 3. A family up who wants to commit to loving this angel forever – she has been bounced around to multiple homes in her young life through no fault of her own and is GREAT despite humans failing her.July 13, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
Meet Punky Brewster! This 2-year old spunky and spirited bulldog mix came to us from local animal control after her owner could no longer care for her and she is bully to the core! With her low ridin’ stubby legs, broad backed shoulders, and AMAZING temperament, she is the epitome of a bully stereotype. Are you a neat freak? Punky’s not your girl. She’s sassy, not-so-classy, and a little gassy. And she slobbers in the most spectacularly sloppy way when she’s excited. She snorts, chirps, pants, and grunts in a mesmerizing and iconic fashion that will make you immediately fall in love with the oaf that she is! Punky’s personality is quirky and colorful like a rainbow – a confident dog who wears her individuality with pride and marches to her own beat. She’s a bona fide tomboy who is clever, loves to talk, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. You always know where you stand! But…she’s also just a young girl who is warm, funny, and bright, with a childlike innocence. And she wears her bat ears like pigtails. Punky is always excited to see people and sooo content to go with the flow. She loves to be part of the action, to fearlessly explore, and to chew a good nylabone for hours on end. She lives for treats and doesn’t even pretend to eat like a lady. And she has been happy to coexist with every dog and cat she has met. This happy and effervescent girl just needs a forever home to show her the love she deserves. Due to her size and lack of history, older kids would be best for this sweet and joyful bully. Punky Power! Punky’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family with kind hands and open hearts who will make this sweet girl feel love. 2. A family who isn’t fussy about dog slobber or snorts. 3. A family who is looking for a real family member – to share experiences and the couch.June 10, 2024, 9:56 am

Story
Shake and Bake! Meet Ricky Bobby! Drivers start your engines – this 2-year old chunk of fawn brindle perfection came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray and he is a realllllly good dog. Seriously, the most special disposition (and we never say that!). Ricky is happy-go-lucky, exceptionally loving, and uber housetrained. He is non-destructive when left alone, has a goofy personality, and loves his nylabones! He will entertain himself for hours – going from bone to bone for a little variety. OK, he’s a bit of a manchild – finding fun and joy in just about everything, but showing love is really his favorite activity.  And he does it well!   The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is simple…sweet fellow, found as a stray, finds his way into rescue in the hopes of winning on the superspeedway of love. And he’s the best there is – plain and simple. With his round and innocent eyes and gorgeously muted brindle coat, Ricky is a handsome one! Looking into eyes is an out of body experience…they are rich and deep. It becomes obvious in a nanosecond that he is an old soul looking for love. And those white toes! We are IN LOVE!   Ricky has a short, stocky body, which makes his movement resemble a platypus in the most adorable way. And with his wiggly demeanor and relaxed attitude, we promise you’ll fall head over heels at over 200 miles an hour. Ricky Bobby wants to drive his way into your heart (and a terrific home who would be beyond lucky to have him). He just needs a pit crew to call his own. So shake it before you bake it! Let the checkered flag wave and the fireworks fly by adopting sweet Ricky. After all, if you ain't first to apply to adopt this GEM of a pup, you're last. Due to his size and lack of history, older kids would be best for this special man.   Ricky Bobby’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who recognizes how freaking lucky they are to have this amazing dog! Seriously, he is the BEST! 2. A family who is down for snuggles and affection and wants a dog who loves to be part of the action front and center. 3. A family who thinks dogs on furniture and sleeping in the bed is totally normal. Cause, uh, it is.July 13, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
Meet Pepperpotamus! This 1-year old spice girl came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray. She is waiting patiently to find her happily-ever-after and boy, does she deserve it! Pepper has a wiggly warmth to her and like any great pit bull, is able to Bluetooth pair with you on an emotional level. She is a people-person and oozes sweetness and love from her entire being, craving attention and insisting on being near her people at all times. In fact, if the Spice Girls had another member, it would be Lovey Dovey Spice. She is happiest when someone is petting her, loves to give kisses, and crawls right up for a full-frontal hug. If you are looking for an EXTREMELY affectionate dog who LOVES to be as close as humanly possible and will gaze longingly into your eyes searching for more connection, then Pep Pep is your girl! Pepperpotamus has a sophisticated velvety soft and stormy coat, and wags and wiggles when she meets new people…her entire body shakes and her butt wiggles nonstop with excitement. She is appropriately playful for her young age, hops like a rabbit with excitement, and runs in the most charmingly gawky manner. This midnight hued peppercorn loves some low-key sniffari walks before snuggling up the couch and adores playing fetch. She is GREAT in the car and is likely registered as an amateur-professional co-pilot. But most of all she loves to love and will gladly give you loyalty and snuggles galore, with goofy personality to spare.  Pepper loves her canine foster brother (but is waaaaay too excited around cats and itty bitty pups) and has many dog friends. She has an energetic playstyle with the pups but is calm in the house. Pint-sized humans make her nervous, so a home without the little littles is a must for this black beauty. Pepperpotamus is sure to add some seasoning to your spice cabinet. Apply today and let her spice up your life! Pepperpotamus’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who wants a dog that loves attention and is eager to freely give (and receive) love and affection.  2. A family willing to put time into continuing basic training for an adolescent pup since Pepper jumps up to seek affection and gets excited on walks.  3. A family who wants to be close to their pup and allows them to be near…always, which includes snuggling in bed and on the couch for a binge-watching session of, well, anything.July 13, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
Meet Otter! This 2-year old eager beaver bulldog mix came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray and has charmed just about everyone he’s met with his unique features and loveable personality. We don’t know much about this seal-like baby boy’s past, but from his behavior, it seems as though almost everything about living in a home setting as a family member is new to him. Our sweet little sea otter came to us noticeably underweight, with a double ear infection and a bad skin infection with open sores. His elbows have worn pressure sores from lying on hard surfaces and he initially had a hard time settling when he was out of a crate. Based on his body condition and reactions to basic situations, it seems as though someone wasn’t taking very good care of him. But this adorable aquatic creature has been a trooper and is turning into the social and playful pup he was meant to be. He tolerates ear cleanings, ear drop applications, and medicated baths like a champ. And he’s finally starting to feel better!  Otter is totally housetrained (not one accident in the house!), loves nylabones/frozen Kongs/bully sticks, and after weeks in his foster home, is starting to get the hang of snuggling. He will now slide under the blankets as if he is wrapping himself up in seaweed. His short limbs and weblike feet are mesmerizing to watch as he romps around the yard…and that sleek, round head with his sweet, sensitive whiskers…be still my heart!  Otter’s little body is jam-packed full of muscle with a hefty density reminiscent of a much larger dog – in fact, we’re not so sure he would be buoyant in open water. He has an adorably short nose, teeny-tiny chiclet teeth, and soft, silky fur. And his eyes are deep and soul searching – looking for love. Due to his size and lack of history, older kids would be best for this deserving cub. Otter’s top 3 priorities: 1.  A patient family who will give this pup extra time to decompress and go at his pace to introduce new experiences slowly. 2.  A loving family with a gentle touch who will show this little man a safety and love he has likely never known. 3.  A family looking for a low to medium energy dog – one that will gladly go for a neighborhood walk to sniff around, before heading back to the air conditioning. July 6, 2024, 8:29 am
