Story
Uno is a perfect gentleman and has been in my care since he was a puppy. He is a typical hound; likes to check everything and everyone out, very nosey, & barks to alert of people or other dogs (we’re still working on it). He does well on a leash and knows basic commands; sit, down, stay, paw, spin. He loves running around the backyard, playing with other dogs, walks, and ear rubs. He is crate trained & thrives on a daily routine. Because of his size, he would do best in a home without tiny children & could benefit from more obedience training. I’m completely heartbroken to be in this situation as I was raised knowing adopted dogs are a lifetime commitment. Unfortunately, my older dog is no longer able to tolerate his typical doggy behavior & as a result, both dogs are suffering. The older dog is lashing out at Uno more frequently and I’m worried for their safety. Looking for a serious adopter with an agreement to return him to me if things don’t work out.

Story
Are you the one? PLEASE READ PANCHO'S FULL BIO BEFORE APPLYING! Hey there, hoomans of the internet! My name is Pancho, and I would love more than anything to find my forever home. I'm looking for an experienced owner and a specific environment that fits my needs, but I just know that there is someone out there with a heart big enough to take a chance on me! My foster mom says that when I'm with the people I trust, in the safety of my home, I'm gentle, loving, goofy, well-behaved, a great listener, and the biggest snuggle bug. She's a little biased but she says I'm destined to be some lucky person's heart dog. Here's what my ideal home looks like: * Experienced Dog Owner Required: Someone who can read my body language, manage my interactions with other dogs and people, and who understands my quirks and can provide the structure I need. * No Other Dogs or Regular Playdates: I am picky around other dogs and need a family who respects my boundaries. I can get along with some submissive dogs and I love puppies, but I resource guard around other dogs, so I need owners who are attentive and responsible when I'm around other pups. * No Kids: I require a home without children or regular child visitors. * Cats on a Case-by-Case Basis: While I've lived with cats before, I really like to chase and play with kitties and don't always know when to leave them alone, so any knew cat siblings would need to be tested on a case by case basis as I may cause them stress. * Fenced Yard Required: I am reactive towards other dogs when I'm walking on the leash, and I have that classic husky prey drive. Because of this, it's not always possible for me to get all the exercise I need through walks. I need a home with a fenced yard so that I can run and play and have zoomies to help get my energy out. * No Apartments: due to my reactivity towards other dogs, and distrust of strangers, I am not suited for an apartment. I know that I come with a lot of requirements for my new home, but for the right person, I promise I will be worth it!! Here's a bit more about me: * I've Got Skills! I'm potty trained and know lots of commands, and not just the basic boring ones! I love to learn and mom has taught me to roll-over, spin, weave between her legs, "wait" for a treat that's in front of me, and more! I'm also crate-trained, but you don't need to crate me because I am a perfect gentleman and I can be trusted to free roam while my humans are away. Foster mom leaves me for 8-10 hours three days a week and I never get into trouble! * I'm Active: I love outdoor adventures like hikes, jogs, splashing in the water, and going for car rides. "Car" is my favorite word and I get so excited when I hear it! I'd be a great running partner, and I'm your perfect adventure buddy. I'm still working on my short-leash skills - it's really hard not to pull when the rabbits and squirrels in the neighborhood are taunting me! But I love when mom takes me out on my long line to go exploring and sniffvestigate to my heart's content. * I'm Playful and Goofy! I am the biggest goofball and I love, love, LOVE to play with my stuffies! My favorite toy is my rainbow that has lots of little unicorns living inside. I love to take them out and have mom throw them for me. I don't rip my toys or destroy them, I just love to squeak them, toss them around, and snuggle them when I'm sleepy. I have a silly personality that makes everyone laugh, and I will always make your day brighter with my hilarious antics! * I Have Guardian Instincts: I take my role as protector seriously, so I'm best suited for someone who values safety and wants a loyal companion. I would be a great companion for a woman who wants to go on solo walks, hikes and/or runs and feel safe while doing so. * I'm Muzzle-trained: My muzzle is a great tool that my foster mom uses to help keep me and any strange dogs or humans I interact with safe. I'm trained to go for long walks with my muzzle on, so mom can take me places where an off-leash dog might run up to me. Mom also uses my muzzle to introduce me to new people, as I get really nervous when strangers reach their hands towards me and sometimes I'm so afraid I'll snap at them. However, once I decide someone is my friend, the muzzle can come off! I warm up to most women right away, and while I'm more distrustful of men, with some extra time and patience I will come to love them too. I thought my foster grandpa was pretty suss when we first met, but now he's one of my favoritest hoomans ever! I am totally trustworthy around people, once I know they're not going to hurt me and decide they can join my snuggle club. To recap, I thrive with a slow introduction to new people and dogs. My ideal family will cherish my loving nature and help me maintain boundaries with strange dogs and humans and respect my need for a calm and structured environment. And of course provide me with lots of stuffies and a lap that is always open for cuddles! If you're an experienced dog owner who's ready for a loyal, goofy, and loving companion, let's meet! My foster mom says she would adopt me in a heartbeat, but then she wouldn't be able to help more dogs like me down the road. She wants you to know that taking a chance on a dog like me and putting the work in to make me feel at home is one of the most fulfilling things a pawrent can do, and if you take that chance it will change both our lives for the better! I've been waiting almost a year for someone to see my potential...are you the one I've been waiting for? Story
Harper is 6 years old. Are you looking for a playmate for your dog? Harper is your girl. She LOVES tiny little dogs. Those are her favorite. Oh Harper, she is a funny girl. She likes to rearrange blankets and drag them across the room to the pile of toys and bones she has collected. She LOVES to wrestle and play with the dogs in the foster home. She is great with the cat. Harper is potty trained to the doggie door but will also use a potty pad if needed. Harper came from a hoarding case and prefers the company of other dogs more than people. When she has her dog friends around she is confident and will follow you everywhere and is a happy funny girl with tail wagging away. She is semi-feral when it comes to people. She doesn't want people to touch her but she will dance for you with excitement when you get home from work. She has 2 requirements if adopting: Must have a Fence and another dog. The perfect home for Harper is a someone who is ok with a dog who doesn't want to go for walks or in the car. That you are ok with her just being a dog with dog friends. And a fenced yard, doggie door is a plus as she doesn't want you to stand in the doorway for her to go outside. She has been in rescue for 2 years now and has gotten a little chubby. :) Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Email questions to Lori@campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $300 plus tax

Mittens is a sweet very energetic puppy. He was very scared when he got here but his awesome personality is shinning through. He is potty trained. He does not like the kennel but we are working on it. He gets along with my dogs. Loves to chew ( like my slippers). He doesn't show any aggressive behavior for food. He's a good boy and wants to be loved. He would do best in a house with no cats. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org. Adoption fee is $300 plus tax

Hiya, I'm Trav! Life's one big scavenger hunt, don't ya think? I'm always on the prowl for squirrels, rabbits, and birds. Oh, the thrill of the chase! Once, I chased a squirrel right into a local home. Imagine my surprise when I found myself covered in baby food! The mommy wasn't too pleased, and that's how I ended up here. But hey, I'm not complaining. I've got a knack for turning any place into my personal playground. If you love adventure and don't mind a bit of mischief, I'm your guy! I promise, with me, life will never be dull or lonely as I love to snuggle in for a long nap. Adoption fee: $300.00 plus tax Apply to adopt: www.campcompanion.org

Story
Kila and her friend AJ were left in an overnight drop box at an overcrowded shelter on Jan. 27th.. Kila is a little lap dog and wonderful cuddler. She follows you everywhere and sleeps with you under the covers. She loves to be carried around or taken places with you. Kila is looking for a hospice home and would prefer no other dogs in the home. She just wants to lay on your lap all day. She came with a hand full of health issues. She had a hernia, grade 4 heart murmur, mammary tumors, luxating patella's, bad teeth. Due to her knees, she walks funny, and she has a hunched back. She is 12 years old and a whole 5 lbs. Update: 5/2/24- Kila has a zest for life. We tried did a super fast surgery and she had hernia repair surgery, removed a mammary lump and pulled some infected teeth. Kila is a happy girl. She loves to follow you everywhere you go and if you sit, she sits right by your side. She is a master of the pretzel position when she is sleeping. So, if you have a heart for senior dogs. She is house broken, but she has to potty often so someone who is home alot to let her out. She uses the doggy door at her foster home and takes herself out to potty. She isn't a huge fan of big dogs; she will pick a fight with them. She doesn't like dogs in her space. Dogs 15 lbs and under she is fine with. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Kila does qualify for the senior for senior program and her adoption fee is waived if you are 63 or older. Please consider a donation to help us support this program to help senior dogs like Kila. Find our donation button on our website. https://www.campcompanion.org/donate/
