Story
Hi, I’m Marco! I am three-years-old, 50 lbs., and as handsome as can be with my incredibly soft coat, adorable smile, and curly-q tail. I was DNA tested and would you believe I have a total of 17 breeds! I was found as a stray in rural North Carolina in November 2021 where I spent 17 months in the shelter, 23 hours a day in a kennel – that’s basically where I grew up and all I’ve never known. I have been in my amazing foster home in Connecticut since March 2023 and while it has been so much fun and I am incredibly loved, I yearn for a family of my very own! I’m a big fan of pets and will curl up right next to you as I always love being with my people. I really like sleeping in bed with my fosters and will sleep all the way through the night until you wake up in the morning. Make sure you have a cozy blanket because I will paw at it to wrap myself up in it - I'm just a little baby boy! I absolutely LOVE to play and adore my toys. Tug of war? Yep. Fetch? I’m a professional. I am very smart and anything that helps my mind think is enjoyable to me, like snuffle mats, food puzzles, lick mats, etc. I’m always up for an adventure – I love seeing new sights and while we’re out and about, you’ll see just how well I walk on leash too! I'm a big fan of other dogs and I'm also fine with cats. Having another playful pup to live with would make me super happy! Now here's the thing, you're probably wondering how a handsome boy like myself has been in the shelter system for so long...well, long story short, new people make me nervous so you will need to build trust with me. However, once I know you, I'll love you forever. Kids freak me out so adults only, please. I'll need a family willing to be patient as we work on my reactivity to strangers and mouthiness because I just get so darn overstimulated and excited. My foster mom has already taught me to sit and I'm house and crate trained too. I'm a very good boy with so much potential - I just need a very special person! I am just so happy to be out of the shelter and start my next chapter. Once we become friends, you'll see why my foster mom thinks I'm the best boy ever! My adoption fee is $350 and I am vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. Story
Say hello to Boomer, a stunning two-year-old, 63 lb. husky/shepard mix with a luxurious long coat and gentle brown eyes. He was dumped this past November at a dead-end road in rural North Carolina after a man in the neighborhood threatened to shoot him for chasing his chickens. At the time, he was not vetted and heartworm positive so he’s now ready for adoption as he’s undergone treatment and has received everything he needs medically. He’s currently in a foster home in NC awaiting his freedom ride to CT upon approval of an application. Boomer is just the sweetest guy! He LOVES to be around people any chance he gets. As most huskies are, this beautiful boy is full of energy and will require an adopter willing to give him the exercise and enrichment he needs. Boomer is good with dogs and has done great with the children he has met since being in foster. We would not recommend a home with cats due to his high prey drive, which is a typical husky trait. He’s also quite the talker and will tell you when he wants something. Boomer loves his toys, runs, and going on adventures. He is house/crate trained and a very smart pup. You MUST have a fenced yard in order to adopt him and husky experience is highly preferred. His adoption fee is $400 and Boomer is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm treated. If you are interested in this gorgeous guy, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Meet Guinness, a super handsome 10-month-old, 45 lb. plott hound/pittie mix with the most stunning brindle coat, precious smile, and dark brown eyes. He came to our rescue from Texas with his sister, Mimi, who was quickly adopted. The pair were saved from euthanasia with just hours left before taking the long journey to Connecticut. He has been with us since October and is anxiously waiting for a loving family of his very own! Guinness is always ready to be the life of the party, hence the name! His tail never stops wagging and he just adores his playtime, being with his people, lounging by the fire, and toys. Before Guinness came to us, he even enjoyed swimming in the fosters pool. Now that he has experienced snow, that's on the top of his favorite things too! Guinness is a total lap dog who loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses. He's super playful and loves to run around and explore. He's a complete mush and ready to be anyone's BFF! Guinness is young and spent some time being cooped up in a shelter so he would benefit from basic training but is very treat motivated. He's a very trainable dog! He's currently in foster with another pup, whom he loves so having a playmate would make Guinness very happy. He can be jumpy so young children aren't recommended unless they're dog savvy. He must go to a home with a fenced yard and an adopter willing to be patient and guide him. His adoption fee is $450 and Guinness is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you are interested in this cutie, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
***FOSTER OR ADOPTER WANTED – CURRENTLY ON LONG ISLAND*** Meet Charlie, a one-year-old, 60lb. red nose pittie with the most soulful eyes and sweet soul. After being adopted a year ago, the family unfortunately needs to now rehome him as he's not getting along well with the other dog in the family. He's currently with his owners on Long Island in New York and desperately needs a new home ASAP! Charlie is good with people of all ages, including young children. He presently lives with a two-year-old who is constantly all over him. While Charlie is fine with humans, he needs to be an only dog. He has never been tested with cats. He is very energetic and would love a nice fenced yard to play in. Charlie enjoys going for walks and is always up for an adventure in the car. He adores cuddles and attention, and really loves his treats! Charlie is house and crate trained, as well as understands basic commands like sit, paw and lay down. He is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, neutered, and is on monthly prevention. **This is a courtesy post for PAWS Long Island who is in contact with the current owners. If you have specific questions about Charlie or are interested in applying/meeting him, please email adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616. Story
Meet Eli, a sweet one-year-old, 40 lb. German Shepherd with quite a story to tell. He was found down south with a pellet lodged in his spine...yes, that's right, somebody actually shot this precious pup! Despite knowing only cruelty from humans in the past, Eli has thrived under the care of his current foster family, now on Long Island. Eli is very sweet and loves to play with toys. He is a happy boy who loves affection and knows exactly the right time to howl in the song, “Werewolves of London!” He likes the company of other dogs but has never been around cats. Now, Eli needs a very special person...he can walk but does suffer from some internal paralysis resulting in mild bladder and bowel dysfunction. Will you be the one to save this handsome deserving soul and give him a second chance? **This is a courtesy post for PAWS Long Island. If you have specific questions about Eli or are interested in applying/meeting him, please email adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616.
