Story
Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. If interested in meeting Bella, complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Bella is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.November 2, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Poppy (fka Noelle) is a fun sweet energetic almost 13 mos old aust shepherd/cattledog mix with some poodle and several other breeds. She is about 37#, loves other dogs, was curious about but friendly with the foster cat but does have a prey drive with critters, and loves to go on walkies and hiking. Poppy can be a little shy at first but it doesn't last long. Poppy is looking for an active home with another younger friendly dog to play with, a 5 ft fenced in (no chain link) backyard to run around, and humans who are not gone long hours. She has learned some basic cues and loves to learn new things. She has not been tested with children but a respectful older child 10+ should be fine as she does jump some. She is a sweet puppy who likes to cuddle but also is ready to play at a moment's notice. She can be a bit of a wild child when she plays but settles down after she is sufficiently exercised. She is crate trained at night, potty trained, and sleeps through the night if she potties right before bedtime. She may need a refresher in a new home with a new routine. She is not a good fit for an apartment situation as she does have the Heeler bark but doesn’t use it unnecessarily. If you are interested in meeting Poppy, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Poppy is spayed, utd on vaccs, and chipped. Her adoption fee is $400 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.  November 2, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Luna is a sweet senior who lost the only home she has ever known. She is an 11.5 year old, 55 lb terrier blend hoping there is an angel who appreciates an older dog that will give her a new place to lay her head. She is house trained and knows all about manners. She isn’t destructive when left out and sleeps in a dog bed overnight so we don’t know if she’s crate trained. She is sweet, happy and very lovable; her smile says it all. She is older and can be a little stiff when she first gets up, but she still loves to play, go exploring, and get belly rubs. The mutual love she and her former owner shared is apparent, but sadly he passed away and Luna ended up in a small overcrowded rural TX shelter. Luna has a lot of love to give and a lot of laughs and snuggles to bring with her to her new home. We have not been able to test Luna with cats or kids but her previous foster in TX said she’s good with respectful children. She hasn’t attempted a flight of stairs so her new home should not have a lot of stairs to access the outdoor/potty area. She is taking all the changes in stride trusting that these new humans will find her a new person or family to devote her remaining years to. She needs to find a home where she can relax and breath and bond. And go for walkies! She keeps a great pace. Another friendly doggie friend would be appreciated in her new home but not necessary if her humans are around most of the time. She got a clean bill of health from the vet and her bloodwork looks great. If you would like to meet Luna please complete our application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Luna’s adoption fee is $175 and she is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, HW-, and chipped. We do not adopt outside of Colorado.November 2, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Apple and his brother were found dumped in the desert in NM when they were just babies. They are approx 6 months old now and 20#. We believe that they are Cowboy Corgi mixes. Apple has a very sweet demeanor and loves being near his people. Apple is good with other dogs, respectful children 6+, and strangers. He has not been tested with cats. He enjoys snuggling with his human, chewing on bully sticks, and getting frozen kong toys. Apple requires a secure fenced in yard with humans who aren’t gone long hours. These pups are nearly potty trained but need let out often and late at night to do their final business. He will sleep in or out of his crate. Apple has learned to walk on a leash and is doing great. These pups love to eat which is good because they need to gain some more weight. Apple will often try and steal food so needs to be monitored if there’s another dog. They are a bit introverted and shy at first but warm quickly with soft talk and snacks. He will do well in a structured suburban or rural environment with active humans and lots of attention. A basic puppy training class would do wonders to build their confidence and teach them fun cues. If you’re interested in meeting Apple, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Apple is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Story
These puppies were born in Rescue approximately 9 nine weeks ago.  Willow was the runt of the litter and the last one born but that hasn’t stopped her! Whatever the others give her, she gives it back twice over. She weighs just over 4#. She is great playing with cats, kittens and other dogs. She has never been around kids but respectful kids 10+ should be fine.  Willow is spayed, chipped, and utd on her puppy vaccs but will need her third puppy vaccs if she’s adopted before 11/13. She is doing well with potty training but will definitely need continued positive support as she’s just a baby still.  Mom is a border terrier mix and Willow appears to have some Pug or Puggle with  a smooth coat and long legs that give her great speed to keep up with everyone else.   None of the puppies have conquered stairs yet; they are curious but no one is curious enough to be the first to go up or down.  They do enjoy a fenced yard but an apartment with an active family would work for them.  If you’re interested in meeting Aspen, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Willow’s adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.  November 6, 2024, 2:36 pm
