Amora

American Bulldog Boxer

Female, 8 yrs 10 mos
Santa Ana, CA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Amora is 4-5 years old and weighs approximately 60 pounds. She is active and playful, but does have her calm moments. She LOVES to swim and would do well in a home with a pool. She is playful and likes tug-of-war and fetch. She is fully house-broken. She is working on leash-training. She is a good with kids and very sweet with her family. Amora is as loyal as can be. She is dog selective and would not be a good candidate to bring to dog parks/beaches. She does well with her foster brother Gunner, a 120-pound cane corso. She cannot be with cats or small dogs. She is a smart pup and knows a few commands: come, stay, go, out, leave it, sit. Amora and Gunner would make a wonderful pair, but do not have to be adopted together. Her adoption fee is $325 and covers the cost of her spay, all core vaccines (Rabies and Distemper/Parvo), microchip and microchip registration. The adoption fee for her and Gunner as a pair will be $650. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application, available on our website, poochmatch.com, under the adoption tab and please read the paragraphs below for more details on our process. If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications for him/her. We do not do out-of-state adoptions on highly adoptable dogs; we would only consider out-of-state adoptions for dogs that prove hard-to-place locally. We cannot hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. UPDATE: ADOPTION EVENTS CANCELLED DUE TO PANDEMIC AND SOCIAL DISTANCING. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and submit it no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Upon receipt AND approval, the dog you are interested in meeting will be made available to meet on a Saturday. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent. Please understand that private appointments will be coordinated to meet the convenience of the foster parent/transporter. We cannot hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. and they range from $225-$495. COVID-19 PROCEDURE: In an effort to create a safe environment for our potential adopters and our staff, we have changed our protocols and procedures during these difficult times. Starting immediately, our procedures will change from what’s written on our website and other social media platforms. Our weekly adoption event at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda is temporarily cancelled due to COVID-19 and social distancing. The only way to meet one of the dogs/puppies we have available for adoption is through completion of our adoption application through our website, poochmatch.com, before 11 AM on Fridays. On Fridays when we review the applications, we will pick the best fit for each dog or puppy applied for and coordinate mutually agreeable appointment times for the applicants who are approved that week. Private appointments are currently only scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday of each week. Masks or bandanas are mandatory; faces must be properly covered. With the overwhelming desire of the public to adopt at this time, we have received as many as 30 applications for one dog in just one week. Working with a staff of volunteers, we are only able to reach out on Fridays to the people we have approved to adopt. If you have not heard from us by Friday, we have selected a different applicant. If you have multiple dogs/puppies that you are interested in, please indicate each dog/puppy of interest on the application at that time so we don’t rule you out for another dog/puppy available for adoption. Please understand, we have an influx of texts, phone calls and emails that makes it impossible to get to each and every one of you. Not just for adoption interest, but also from veterinarians, people who must relinquish dogs, people who have found a stray dog in need of pick up, etc. We are currently not in need of fosters. Due to the fact that there is such a high demand, we are sticking with strict protocol to not adopt out of Southern California. We apologize for this inconvenience and difficulty to be able to get in touch with us while there is an overwhelming desire and demand to adopt at this time. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate through these difficult times with every intention to keep the public and our staff safe.

Female, 6 yrs 9 mos
Santa Ana, CA
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Details
Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Keely is around 5 years old and weighs 13 pounds. While she is sociable with other dogs, she is not confident around humans. She was rescued from a hoarding situation, is shy, and would require an experienced and/or very patient handler. We are positive she would evolve into a trusting pet with continued confidence building. She will require a calm, quiet, patient home willing to let her adjust at her own pace without asking her to engage socially with children or people she does not know. If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications. We do not do out-of-state adoptions. We do not hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND. We commonly receive multiple applications for a single dog. Nevertheless, only one applicant will be invited to meet a dog on Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda between noon and 3 pm OR on a mutually agreeable day, time and place during the week.

Story
Jimmy (aka Jimbo) is a loving little guy. He is 10 years old and weighs 13 pounds. He likes to lounge around the home and will be great company. He can be shy at first, but warms up with a bit of time and patience. He also likes going for walks and adventures, and is medium energy, not hyper. He really enjoys being close to his humans and would need a plan for longer work days so he doesn't spend much time alone. Jimmy is a very gentle guy and takes treats delicately. He's not a snapper when offered a snack! He knows "sit" as well. He LOVES to be a lapdog and will happily cuddle with you when he can. If you're looking for a loving, affectionate, amazing companion to take on leisurely walks and have a great TV-watching buddy, Jimbo could be just who you're looking for! He is being relinquished by his owner who can no longer care for him. This is through no fault of his own. If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications. We do not do out-of-state adoptions. We do not hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. Robert is and incredibly good dog: quiet, affectionate, low-maintenance (meaning he is not demanding). He is around 4-6 years old and weighs 65-70 pounds. He enjoys sun bathing and does well with other dogs. Rescued as a stray, Robert is grateful to have a roof over his head and be an indoor pet. He is crate-trained, good-natured, clean and well-behaved. He obeys well and knows "sit" and "high-five." He is a pretty mellow and low-key guy. Robert is a wonderful dog with an equally lovely temperament to match! He will make an excellent companion. His adoption fee is $295.
