Story
(DOB 02/26/2017) Mack aka Tux is a super sweet; gorgeous, stunning, well behaved, ~70+ pounds of love! Half of Mack's Adoption Fee has been SPONSORED by a generous donor, Just $150 to adopt this Handsome Hunk!! He is good with other dogs, cats and kids!  The trifecta!  He seems to gravitate towards kids and wants to be with them; just make sure the kiddos are older (~10+) becuase of his size.  He wouldn't want to accidently knock down a smaller child with his love and affection.  He was very afraid of his foster family's cats (kind of cute and funny) when he first arrived. He is becoming more interested in them and will chase in play but easily redirected. Mack could be an only dog, but he'd probably be happier with some fun, playful siblings. He does well with other dogs and is submissive even with his larger size. He is going to be an awesome addition to a full house!  Mack would love to be in a home with an active family where he could be outside a lot. He would really, really like a 5ft+ fenced yard to run, zommie, and romp around in!  He likes playing with toys, some good ole tug-o-war (he typically gives up first) and playing with other dogs.  He likes grabbing a stuffie and pulling and tugging on it with his foster furry family members.  Mack likes to use his voice and "chat" with his furry foster siblings...he has cute vocals. He wouldn't be a perfect fit for apartment or condo for these reasons. Mack is house trained but not really crate trained.  He has selected a favorite chair and a dog bed that he finds much more to his liking. He is well behaved and happy in his home environment.  He would be happy curled up in front of a roaring fire or on the sofa after a good play time. Mack would love someone who works from home/home most of the time, so he could have loads of attention. Mack loves the car and would be happy with a family that is on the go!  Do you travel and need a companion, do you have a RV and go many places and camp then Mack may be the pup for you!  He loves to go with you and would be a great camping/hiking buddy as he loves to exercise. He does have some seperation anxiety, and will chew things if left alone on ocassion (he is almost never alone) so even more reason to take him with you!  Plus, when you are out and about, he is good on a leash and well behaved.  He is a GEM! As part of Mack's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Mack, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1558926##

Story
(DOB 12/24/2020) Dodger is the sweetest dog. He's very loyal and always wants to know what is going on around the house. He would love to hang out with someone who works from home. He will definitely brighten any dull work day! He really is a lovebug at heart. He has also become a cute snuggle bug to his furry foster brother and can be found napping with him. He loves to play with his doggie friends. He is speedy and likes to show off how fast he can run! He can be an only dog or would love to have some playful doggie friends in his fur-ever home! If you don't have another playful pup for him to romp and roll with, make sure you have time to have several play sessions a day. He likes toys to squeak, chew, and to play tug and fetch (no promises he will bring it right back, though). Do you love daily walks? Dodger is good on a leash and has a lot of positive energy! He loves long walks or jogs, so what an awesome partner he will be for you! He will make a such a great companion. After a day of activities, Dodger is known to be a solid sleeper and sleeps like a log! If you are lucky, you will hear some cute snoring every now and then. Dodger prefers to meet strangers in his backyard where he can have just a little time to get introduced; a 5 minute meet and greet is about all he needs. He enjoys having new people come in, sit and let him take a little sniff and then it's time to add you to his buddy list! As part of Dodger's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Dodger, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org ##1619299##

Story
(02/07/2015) Are you looking for a mature gentleman with a loving and tender heart? This sweet boy, Legend, loves both humans and dogs.  He adapts well to his environment and loves everyone he meets. He gets along with both large and small dogs. He may need at least one furry sibling in his new home depending on the household, but requires a fenced in yard due to his skittish nature.  He still has playful spurts of energy with his foster friends. At his age he is also happy just chillin' out and getting pets. He is such an amazing, sweet, kind companion!! You will find that he is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. His furry siblings are also his confidence builders. He watches them and follows suit. It is actually very cute. Very small children may cause Legend to back away at first due to quick movements and loudness, but with patience and practice he should adjust. We recommend children 10+ for Legend.  He is good on a leash on his regular walks and familiar surroundings. If something loud or scary comes by, he will pull away from it. A pocket full of tasty treats can't hurt, so take some with you. He would probably appreciate walking with a furry friend as well. We are looking for a home with a 4ft+ fenced yard, so he can sniff, check out the world and play a little but mostey hang out with his furry sibling(s). Legend does pretty well in the car, but he can use more practice. He is a bit nervous to begin with yet settles in; just a lot of new experiences for this sweet boy to learn about. He would love a patient and kind person to love and work with him each day. Think of all the benefits you would get from adopting this sweet, gentle soul - house trained, well mannered, lovable, sweet and so much more! He doesn't require being crated as he is well behaved. He will sleep on his doggie bed peacefully. Puppies are cute but if you want a low maintenance dog, you really need to meet LEGEND! As part of Legend's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Legend, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org ##1652975##

Story
(DOB 01/20/2021) Mia is a low-maintenance pup and is always up for a snuggle session. With her gentle nature and affectionate personality, she's the perfect companion for anyone seeking a furry friend to share their love and affection with. Mia's heart is as big as her adorable paws, making her the ultimate snuggle buddy. Don't miss out on the chance to bring this sweet and easy-going girl into your life! Mia will do well with furry siblings or an owner that can provide enough attention so she could also be an only dog. She is also good with children but is startled by quick/sudden movements. So older, more experienced dog-kiddos are best suited for her. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Other than that, she really loves everyone she meets. She is already both house and crate trained and is well behaved in her crate. She enjoys going out for walks and is leash trained. She is learning new things like car rides and is a little nervous at first but settles in nicely on the drive.  Mia has the silkiest ears with the cutest little freckles on them. She has a smile that will warm your heart and radiate throughout the day. She is at a great age and is a wonderful mid-size. Plus, she can do that super cute brow furrow that wrinkles up and is so adoarble. She really checks off so many boxes and will add so much love to you and your family!! If you are looking for a lifetime of unconditional love, Mia wants to meet you! Fill out an application today! As part of Mia's $300 adoption fee she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. If you have any questions about this girl you can email dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.
