Story

I’m Nutella and am from Alabama. My foster momma says I should dream big because I deserve my biggest dream. So here it goes. My wish is to find my forever home. A home that is going to love me unconditionally for all that I am. See I only have three legs. After I was hit by a car in 2023 the doctors did everything they could to save my leg however the best thing for me was to amputate in April 2023. I’ve had to adjust lots since then however I’m a Warrior! These amazing humans from Warrior Dog Rescue brought me to Minnesota where more amazing humans brought me into their home, have shown me so much love, and taken care of me while I continue to heal. They have taken me to a special dog therapy doctor. I have a special bed I lay on every day that is really helping me feel better. I also take some really good medication that helps me feel better too. Our goal is to one day not need all of them. We are working on my walking. I can walk about five minutes and then I need to be done but each week I can another 5 minutes and see how I do. I do get pretty sore but we are confident in time I’ll be able to walk longer. It’s hard to keep me down :) I’m in what the humans call my adolescence stage. Where I can be a little stubborn and sassy. I need a family that will understand my breed and need for at times to have some space and make me take “breaks” as my foster mom calls them. See sometimes I don’t know what’s best for me and I need to take a break. I dream of a home that will have a fenced in yard to keep me safe. As much as I like to play with the dogs I live with (4 of them), I might like being the only dog or one that doesn’t mind me stealing the bones and toys and doesn’t react. I really like the resident cat and we play often. My other dream would be to have a home where they continue to help me on my healing journey and a home without a lot of stairs. My foster mom says I’m the best snuggler and have the softest ears. She giggles when they bounce when I bark. I love snuggling in bed and enjoy the little massages I get. I do really well in my kennel when they leave for work or when they leave me out. I also like to chew on bones and balls. I also like when my foster momma puts out puzzles for me to play with, it keeps my mind busy and really enjoy the treats that are in them. I can’t wait to be able to run in the yard and chase after the ball like I used to. I also love to be outside and find the treasures I bring outside and chew on sticks. I really like being on the boat in the summer. Foster momma also says there are so many things to love about me it’s hard to put in words. My 10 puppies were born via emergency c-section in mid-September. I have spent 8 weeks caring for and teaching my babies in the art of being good dogs. I keep hearing that I am an excellent teacher! Some things to know about me: - I am a gentle and affectionate soul- I love my people. With my history, I like to take some time to truly trust new humans. But, once I do, I will wiggle my way right into your heart. - I am told that I am a very smart girl who will definitely be a motivated learner.- I walk well on a leash- I learned to approach humans for affection.Before coming to MN, I never lived inside a home so I never had to share my space like that before. I also found out that while I like running and playing in the snow, I do enjoy a good Minnesota summer as well! I am fully potty trained and sleep in my kennel all night! I do a great job being in my kennel during the day when my foster mom goes to work, but boy am I happy to see her when she gets home! My foster mom says she is pretty impressed with me! In my foster house there are currently three other doggos to keep me company and help me learn the ropes of being a good girl. I am a quick learner and love running around in the backyard, playing and chasing with my friends. Also, I do enjoy being around people! I can be shy at first, but do warm up quickly. I love snuggles and pets alike! I will hop up next to you on the couch and gently paw asking for attention. Hi! I’m Leather. Let me tell you a little about myself! I am a happy-go-lucky girl with a big personality. I love to go everywhere and see everything. My foster mom says I’m an excellent communicator and listen very well. I’ve learned to use my inside voice when I need help. If my toy gets stuck under the couch, or if it's 1 minute past dinner time, I must let her know! I love all toys and like learning new things, I will do anything for a treat! I take treats nice and really like kids, they are my size and easier to kiss! I love to play chase and run around at the dog park. I like my kennel during the day but prefer to snuggle at night. I ring bells when I need to go potty. My favorite toy is a ball. I can catch really well and I like to fetch sometimes too. I really like watching TV, especially Animal Planet. I love music and I have the best singing voice too! There are many other reasons why I would be the best addition to a family. Hello! My name is Janet and my foster mom says I can brag a little bit. She says I am the best dog. I even overheard my human brother say “Janet is a keeper!” That made my heart so happy. I love love love being with my family. They do spoil me though. I get to sleep in the big bed with them and I am the best sleeper! I sleep all night like a good girl. I am used to the kennel while they’re at work but lately they’ve even started letting me have free roam while they are at work. My mom says I am doing wonderful. I just sleep or chew my toys while they are at work. I’ve never once have gotten into anything! I love my walks!! I go on 2 walks a day. My family says that I need to get better while walking because I am so strong. I was a stray when I was little, never lived in a home, so I just need more time to work on this. I would love a fence because I love to run around and sniff all the squirrels and rabbits. Please give me a chance. I promise you will love me forever!!Janet is heartworm positive and has completed her treatment. She is awaiting a negative test result which can take place 9 months after treatment per our vets recommendations. She is no longer needing to be on exercise restrictions. Janet will also need continued use of monthly heartworm preventives going forward. I am 5 years old, about 38 lbs and I am an awesome mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog and Labrador Retriever. Not only am I handsome but I am a very loving, sweet and smart dog. I absolutely LOVE walks and any activity inside or outside. I know lots of tricks and learn very quickly.I am energetic and love playing fetch with a ball or any toy with a squeaker. I also love tug of war, I have an awesome rubber toy that I got for Christmas that is perfect for it! I love enrichment games, puzzles and frozen kongs/bones. I am smart and loyal, and even though I have energy and love walks, exercise and playing, I also love a good nap. I love being near my people. I do like all people, but especially kids and my foster Mom. I definitely get attached to one person more than anyone else. My foster kids are 12 and 13 years old and I get to sleep with my foster boy every night, I am so lucky! Both my foster kids say that I am the best cuddler and give as many kisses as they will take. I am fully house trained and can easily sleep through the night and then sleep in on the weekends with my foster family- they love that! I don't love my kennel but I am kennel trained. My foster family always gives me treats/bones when I "kennel up" and make it cozy for me while they are away.I get along with dogs that are the same size as me or smaller but not big dogs at this time because of some past experiences. Please be aware of this when we are not at home or in the yard. My foster family takes me for walks often and I love that- I am very smart and can be redirected.I would make the best companion to anyone that is looking for a dog that can complete their family. I truly am one of a kind. I will always be happy to see you and will be right by your side, wagging my tail and showing you how much I love you. I would love to find a home where I get all the love and attention that I need and I will give you all that love right back!
