Story
SE Thor's Hammer, R71B, L75002Hi. I’m Thor. I’m not quite the god of thunder that I’m named after, in fact I’m a sweet and submissive boy. I love walks and think they're awesome! I might secretly love people too, but I'm a little shy at first but curious. I like to come to people when I'm ready and enjoy getting pets. I love having my own space in the house, and as long as I have a refuge and squeaky stuffy toys, I tolerate a lot of activity going on in the house. I get along with dogs the best, calm children are my next favorite, then adults. Anyone noisy or fast, I'll most likely choose to go up to last. I would rather not be kenneled and be an only dog. I really look to other dogs for reassurance and do fine as long as I have a dog buddy to hang with. I also really don't like stairs and so far, no amount of bribery and FOMO has tempted me enough to give them a go. My foster mom will continue to encourage me to give them a try. My new foster mom also says that I have opened up so much in just the two weeks that she's been with me and that it will be amazing to see how much braver I will get once I'm with my forever family. Could you be that forever family?  To see other hounds currently in our care please visit the Hounds in Our Care page on our website. Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
GLS Foxy Eva R 91F, L 75046Hi, I'm Eva! I love going to the coffee shop and meeting lots of strangers and other dogs, playing with tennis balls in the yard, and being in the same room sleeping near my people.  I have a strong urge to lean on my people and although very good with small flights of steps I’m still terrified of the basement stairs so I avoid even walking past them. I am extremely gentle, sweet, very quiet with minimal vocalization.  I’m also good in a kennel for about 4 hours and have been trusted alone for hours fenced up in the living room and kitchen. I get along with all the adults, children, and dogs I have met on walks and in the coffee shop so far. I would rather not walk on hardwood floors or even any weird flooring surface that is not rugs and carpet and I need physical touch and attention but can relax on the floor for hours while people are in the room. I also rather not be touched or have my sleep rudely interrupted. I might get a little disgruntled and bark or growl. I need some more time on the leash with cutting in front of the people's legs but don’t pull very much. My foster people say my small game prey drive is pretty high so I become very stubborn and tough to move when I see squirrels and rabbits. I might be okay with small size dogs but I'm pretty interested in them if they're being extra. Like when my neighbor's little dog attacked the fence. I growled at them and stood my ground but otherwise, I didn't engage. I'm hoping to meeting you soon!  Personality Traits:   laid back, social, playful, energetic, and apprehensive. Story
RG Urs R 62D, L 75271Hi! I'm Popper! I love snuggles and all people. I also love short walks (I get a little tired on long ones). I have a tendency to be a leaner and I am an early riser. I like all people and I get along with big dogs and cats. For the most part I am not interested in cats. In fact, I have a pretty low prey drive and I hardly pay attention to squirrels. I would rather not be kenneled, I tend to vocalize if I'm in the kennel longer than an hour or two. My foster people say I do well lose in the bedroom with the resident dogs. I'm also not a fan of loud noises, the vacuum, and baths. I prefer to be around my people and I love to snuggle with them. Speaking of my people, my fosters say I'm such a sweet boy. Hope to meet my forever people soon! Story
FF Tesla R 61I, L 74981Hi, I'm Telsa!I love MY PEOPLE, the dogs I'm living with, my people, counter surfing, bringing all the toys out of the bin, sleeping, going outside, resting my head on you or other dogs, cuddling, CHEESE (and other snacks) and did I mention my people? I have a gentle disposition, a lot of love to give, a tendency to be a velcro hound, a tendency to sneak out of doors, a tendency to be a counter surfer, a tendency to be vocal when the humans leave so no shared walls for me. I am very friendly, a toy collector, a really good eater, a HUGE cuddler, not afraid of loud noises (such as thunderstorms, vacuums, and fireworks). I get along with people, med/large dogs. I'm not entirely sure about small dogs though. Maybe with time and exposure I could get along with them. The kids I have interacted with have been okay. I just stand there and enjoy all the pets. I would rather not be an only dog/left alone, and I rather not be kenneled because I will be vocal the whole time. I do really well left out though. I need a home without cats, some basic obedience training, a house without shared walls, another dog friend to keep me company (does not need to be a grey), lots of cuddles/attention. I don’t always like to go potty on leash but it's something I'm working on and I've never had an accident in the house. And now that I've learned to go up stairs, I'm also working on learning how to safely go down them. Looking forward to finding my forever family! Story
Hi my name is Annie, I was found wandering around out in the country. My current fosters have no knowledge of my previous living conditions. As far as my personality goes, I tend to be very high strung and anxious especially when my foster's teenage children are present. Their presence has complicated my potty training with my anxiety. Although I do sleep in my kennel all night long and only make noise if I have to go to the bathroom. During the day I hang out in my playpen if I get stressed. I will often go to my safe spaces if stressed out. I do live with 2 foster dogs, a 50lbs husky mix and a 20lbs terrier mix and I love to play with both. My fosters have been attempting to work on my training, however I am not motivated. I love going for walks and wrestling with my foster siblings. I am going to need a special home, most likely with our children, but would love some doggy brothers or sisters. My special somebody will need to be very patient with my training because even though I am almost 2, I am still learning to dog. The details: Needs fence: yes Good with kids: no Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: no exposure All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers.
