Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Regina found herself unwanted and surrendered in West Texas. She is good with other dogs, kids and cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Gigi is perfection. Sweet and loving, she can't get enough attention, kisses, or pets. She gets along with other dogs and is good with kids but would do better with older kids. If you're having a lazy day she will cuddle all day long. If you're full of energy, she'll keep right up with you. She will be your best friend and stick to you like glue.  She's shown a little bit of human resource guarding or protective nature. She would do good with an experienced dog owner.  She loves to play with her two foster brothers and she doesn't let them get the better of her. She will entertain herself with toys or play for ages with other dogs. She's feisty, sweet, and full of love to give. She is very treat motivated and eager to learn new things.   She's great on a leash, but she does get distracted by squirrels or other small animals. Simply remind her to 'look at me' and attention goes back to you. If she sounds perfect for you, please submit an application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 8:32 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Midnight Lagoon found himself unwanted in a  high kill shelter in West Texas. He is good with other dogs and kids, cats are unknown.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.  Do you have what it takes to love me? My name is Midnight Lagoon and I've had a long road in my short life. I came from Texas early February 2023 in pretty bad shape. It's taken a lot of timeand work, but I slowly learned that all people are not bad. I'm human and dog selective, but most humans can win me over with tasty treats pretty quickly. I have a lot of stranger danger and I require slow introductions and don't like eye contact at first. But it won't be long until I let you gaze into my beautiful dark eyes. I would do better with no or older kids as I don't know my own strength, especially when I get excited. I'm curious and stubborn, sweet and sassy. I love to sleep under covers or in the sunshine. I have hardly any prey-drive, but I will chase a deer if it sneaks up on me. I'm doing great working on my leash reactivity. My foster mom says that I do better every day. I do pull some in the beginning of my walks but after I do my business, I tend to take it easy and just enjoy the walk. I really like to take my time and sniff all the sniffs. I am house and kennel trained and I will let you know when I have to go to the bathroom. I'm very good at playing by myself when my foster sister and brother won't play with me, but I also love to play with my foster sister. I can get kind of rough but so can she. I am a vocal player, so any dogs I play with have to be ok with my vocalizations. I have had good luck with both male and female friends, but some males don't like me that much. I would LOVE someone who runs or hikes as I love to explore new places. I just need to continue working on my reactivity. I'm a very good boy with a very big heart and I deserve a happy home and someone to love me unconditionally. Some fun additional information about Middy Midnight just loves trailers. He loves to jump in and inspect the inside and outside of trailers any time he sees one. He is very inquisitive!  Midnight would love a human who is a runner or someone who likes to take long walks or hikes. He enjoys burning off energy as much as a good belly rub. Midnight is nuts for a flirt pole. He likes chasing the fox but enjoys catching it even more. He is getting better and better at 'leave it' so we can continue playing. He is also learning 'enough' for when he gets too excited about the little boy next door running up and down the hall. A firm 'enough' and a treat quiets him right up.Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 8:32 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fiona found herself unwanted in a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is good with dogs and kids, cats are a toy to chase and eat, so no cats for this gal.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.   This smiley girl is Fiona. She is such a joy to foster and would make the perfect addition to any family. Fiona’s three favorite things are people, couches and cars. She loves all people, and is patient with kids . She shows her love by covering you with slobbery kisses. Showing off toys to her people and playing tug-o-war with them is fun. She does resource guard toys and treats from other dogs, so when playing together they need to be removed and the interactions need to be watched. While she is fine with other dogs, including at her foster home and she played well with other dogs while in boarding, being the only dog in the house would be the most ideal situation. No cats please. Fiona thinks couches are the best place to snuggle with her people, and sleep away the day. She will patiently wait for you to join her on the couch, and will stare you down with her adorable face as a way to communicate it is time to sit down. A bonus is she is not interested in human food and will not try to share snacks with you while on the couch. Wish my resident dogs would take note that this is appropriate behavior! She also loves a car ride. While she does well on walks she will approach any parked car and would happily jump in. A previous foster drove for Uber and Fiona accompanied them for a ride checking off her daily to do list of a car ride and interacting with as many people as possible. During the day she is left unsupervised while I work in a different part of the home. She does not get into anything she is not supposed to, and spends a great deal of time sleeping. She is house broken and kennel trained. If you are interested in learning more about Fiona... Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lila and her siblings were surrendered by a wonderful local Minnesota family.  They took on their momma's dogs after she passed and one, Rosie, was pregnant.  Rosie was spayed now when her litter was fully weaned. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Lila is a sweet pup who is potty and kennel trained. She loves to overwhelm her humans with kisses and affection. She’s very smart and still has that puppy energy. Lila is very eager to please so training comes with little effort but even better with treats. Her fosters have been working on socialization and engagement with her thru various methods. Lila will be a good fit for an active household. She can be around other respectable dogs and cats but with slow & proper introductions. She would be best as an only dog in the home as she doesn't like dogs in her face which is hard to watch when at home off leash. Could you be searching for her? Because she’s been searching for you. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Balto, one of Lulu's 10 puppies that were all saved from a SD Reservation. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Balto was adopted as a puppy and returned as an adult due to family changes.  Hi I'm Balto and I am looking for my forever home. I'm from a litter of 10 puppies and we all found our forever homes until mine didn't have time for a 'dog' anymore. So I ended up back at the rescue where I started. I'm in a foster home now and lucky to be with one of my sisters from my litter and I have a foster brother who is a Chihuahua mix. I get along with both of them and love playing with my sister but I am selective with all the animals in the home at times, so I would need to be an only pet in the home. I can socialize outside the home with other dogs, I just don't like to share when I'm in my own place. I have lots of puppy energy so I need a family that will help me learn and grow. I do know your basic commands sit, stay, lay, down and no. I like playing with toys, stuffies, chew bones, balls playing tug with my sister fetch with my foster parents. I do destroy stuffies so we might want to wait on them until I'm older. I love playing outside with my sister (fenced in yard) and going for walks with the whole family. I have lots of energy to burn so I need to stay busy so I don't do any naughty things when I'm bored. (Chew toys are a must) I take naps after a good play or walk and I love to snuggle with my human and sometimes I think I'm a lap dog. I'm a good eater and drink lots of water treats are good too but make me work for them so I don't forget my training. My foster parents tell me I'm a good boy when getting my treats I like that. I also like to relax and just sit in the yard / deck and watch the squirrels and birds. I'm okay by myself but would prefer my human to relax with me.(snuggles) I also love to hold your hand with my paw when we're just chilling. I do great in the car and love going for rides and watching out the window. I'm good with meeting new people I love the attention and I sit for kids and let them give me all the pets and belly rubs they want. When we go for our walks I do good when passing other people and dogs unless they want to meet me then I sit and get all the pets I can. When at home I do get jealous if my foster brother or sister is getting attention I like to push my way in and get the attention for myself I'm working on that now. I'm also working on sharing toys and chew bones with my foster siblings I like to have them all to myself but my foster parents tell me I am getting better at sharing them just need to be reminded at times. I'm still a young boy learning. We have cats in my foster home but I don't know how to react/play with them I get so excited I scare them so at this time I cannot be around the cats. My foster parents think when I'm older I could have a cat sibling. So at this time I am good with kids, a fenced in yard and no dogs or cats. So if you think you are my forever home and family and will continue to work with me let's meet. I'm ready for my forever family.  Balto is fully potty trained and will go to the door and bark/whine when he needs to go out. He also sleeps through the night anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on how much exercise he had the day before. He loves to sleep with his humans but will sleep on the floor, couch or dog bed if preferred. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 8:32 pm
