Story
This brindle bully is Bella. She is one of a few dogs that has resided with one of our southern trainers for quite some time. Despite having some issues that make her a bit less adoptable, this pup still deserves a home where she is loved and her needs can be met. And having a trainer as a foster mom is a huge plus!!!Bella is very sweet, but also can be a bit sassy and bossy. Despite that, she has been been tugging at her fosters heart strings for a very long time. She would have definitely been a foster fail if she was not living in an environment with new dogs coming and going almost everyday.Bella is the perfect 50 pound lap dog. She does not understand the concept of personal space and will try to get in your lap at all costs, especially if you are her level.Even though, she has played well with carefully selected dogs, she will not roll over if that dog is overbearing or tries to correct her, Therefore, being an only dog would be ideal. She is not the girl who can go to a doggie daycare either so she would require a home that will exercise her and a fenced yard where she could run would be a bonus. At her age, she'd probably prefer being the only diva in the house. She's done fine with people and older children, so long as they're willing to give her some butt scratches. No cats or young kids.Bella is very obedient, very affectionate and routine oriented. She also crates fine. She does have a habit of jumping up and nose-butting your chin if she thinks her petting session is done (I want more loving please!). She has learned not to do that with foster mom, but will test the waters with new people.Name: BellaBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 7 years 7 months  (estimated as of 1/15/24)Weight: 50.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $250.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
This handsome senior is Roscoe. He is one of a few dogs that has resided with one of our southern trainers, Desiree, for quite some time. Despite having some issues that make him a bit less adoptable, this guy still deserve a home where he is loved and his needs can be met. And having a trainer as a foster mom is a huge plus!!!Roscoe is truly very special to her. He was found weighing 38 lbs (about half of what he should have weighed) and needed assistance walking due to his body condition. He also had heavy heartworm, but has shown zero complications after treatment. After months and months of TLC, he is now a confident, outgoing, loving, playful (you wouldn't know he was a senior) boy. He's great with all people, but would get under foot with children. In all his years he has yet to realize he should bounce less around the small two legged. As big and goofy as he is, he's actually pretty sensitive, god forbid he stubs his toe!) When you reach down to pet him, he'll tuck himself into this tiny little ball like you're trying to attack him-but that's just how he prefers to be scratched. Typical PBM zoomies included at no extra charge- yep all 4 left feet of em!!!He likes to play ball and tug, great in the car, fine in the crate, would need supervision early on in a new environment to prevent marking. He's not been destructive with toys, but will chew out of boredom. However, he takes very well to correction (NO!) and understands quickly.Roscoe is just fine as an only dog, as long as you give him lots of love and some exercise. He will be yourabsolute best friend.Name: RoscoeBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/ American Bulldog Mix (he's taller than he looks in pictures)Sex: MaleAge: 8 years 6 months  (estimated)Weight: 60.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $250.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TNIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Have you been looking for love in all the wrong places…then you need Douglas! This dog is ready to dedicate his life to you. Douglas is the best of both worlds, puppy energy and enthusiasm but house-broken and crate-trained.He would love his own person or people to be with all the time. But don’t worry when you need to leave him alone, he is good in his crate and will entertain himself with chew toys. He is very treat motivated so training is fun. Doug is graduating from Good Pup soon and would love to continue his training with them. (His foster will gift you some continued training to guarantee his success!) Douglas would be best as an only dog. He has not been cat tested, but he may find them too much fun. And he is too energetic for young children but dog-savvy older children who will help with training would be fine. And if you are wondering why his foster will not keep him, they would love to…..but they have three other dogs and Douglas truly deserves his own people to dote on him.Don’t miss this special boy, he will give you his heart! Story
Hazel, a stunning and spirited pup, is the epitome of beauty and charm. Residing in New England and currently under foster care, she's a 55lb, 4-5 year old with an enchanting allure that mere photos can't capture. Sporting a unique coat and captivating dark eyeliner, she's truly one-of-a-kind.Once in need of medical attention due to wounds, Hazel has now fully recovered and is bursting with vitality, eagerly seeking affection and companionship. Her foster family describes her as a delightful goofball, with an insatiable love for playtime, cuddles, and sharing snacks on the couch. Renowned for her unparalleled snuggling skills, she's a canine cuddle champion. With a medium/somewhat moderate energy level, Hazel thrives on outdoor adventures and physical activities, making her an ideal hiking or running partner. She's even shown promise as a biking companion, proving her adaptability and resilience in the face of distractions. (see video)Fully house-trained and crate-trained, Hazel appreciates her cozy crate as a retreat for relaxation. While she may need some guidance with leash manners, she's responsive to corrections and has shown significant progress since her arrival. Gentle and sweet with other dogs, especially when introduced gradually, she's displayed remarkable patience and kindness, even with a foster puppy. However, in theory, we think she likes being alone in the home as she likes her "things."Hazel's affectionate nature and eagerness to please shine through. With the right guidance and support, she promises to blossom into an exemplary canine companion, offering unwavering loyalty and boundless love to her forever family. If you're ready to welcome a devoted and beautiful addition to your home, Hazel is the perfect match. Name: HazelBreed: Some shepherd, some pitbull terrier, some ? Story
Do you LOVE LOVE older puppies??? Well, here are some absolute cuties, all sweet, friendly and playful. Seven girls and one little boy!!Abandoned with mom by their owners, they are now soooo ready to head north to furever families. They all like to be held, petted, and loved on. And they are not big jumpers. They ride well crated in the car. Their perfect home would be one who craves alot of love and that is willing to continue training to make these precious ones the best family members possible. Loki is smart and fun loving! She enjoys chasing a ball and playing with her siblings! Easy to train and enjoys hanging with her foster mom.She has not shown any signs of aggression and gets along with dogs outside her litter. She is a charmer and loves a good ear scratching.Loki has dainty white paws like gloves on a lady. She’s not the leader of the pack, but she likes to follow the fun.Breed: Retriever CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 8.5 monthsWeight: 53 pounds as of 1/1/24Spayed/Neutered: YesHeartworm: Too young Microchipped: YesLocation of dog currently:  Texarkana Tx Adoption Fee:  $300Adoption fee also includes transport fee. Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
